
Three children ‘fell to the ground’ one after the other as five people were wounded when a knifeman launched an attack in Dublin today, witnesses have said.
A woman and a man were also among the injured, police said. One of the children, a girl, and the woman suffered ‘serious’ injuries. All five have been taken to hospital.
Passersby overpowered the assailant outside a school and were able to disarm him, witnesses have said. A man has been taken to hospital following the incident, with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar saying a suspect had been detained.
‘Five casualties have been taken to hospitals in the Dublin region. One girl aged 5 has sustained serious injuries. Garda Síochána is not looking for any other person at this time.’

Note that the Perp’s ID is not confirmed at this time. Reports are emerging that he may be a “migrant.”
