UK: Police arrest protester over ‘pro-Hamas’ words at Gaza rally

One of Scotland’s most prominent pro-Palestine activists has been arrested under counter-terrorism laws.

Mick Napier, a veteran campaigner, has been charged with expressing “an opinion or belief” in support of Hamas, which is a banned organisation in the UK.

He was taken into custody after speaking at a rally in Glasgow against Israel’s attacks in Gaza. He was released and is due to appear in court in January.
