Justin Trudeau adviser defends use of crude language in online exchange with right-wing group

OTTAWA—A senior adviser to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is defending her use of crude, sexual language in an online exchange with the right-wing influence group, Canada Proud, stating she was subject to a “co-ordinated harassment campaign” and that Canada Proud trafficks in “vile” disinformation.

The exchange occurred in a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, over the weekend, in which the PMO’s newly-hired adviser Supriya Dwivedi derided Canada Proud for having a “raging boner” for a female journalist who covers the far right. Responding to how the Canada Proud account implied she was acting unprofessionally and wrote she was having a “public meltdown,” Dwivedi responded: “you can go back to gooning to Jordan Peterson now.”
