New York has tried everything to rid the city of rats. Rodent birth control. The appointment of a “rat tsar”. The revolutionary concept of putting food waste into a bin rather than out on the street.
None of it seems to have worked, and now Eric Adams, the city’s mayor, has a new idea: recruit children to help.
Volunteers for a new “Rat Pack” will be required to attend a two-hour training session, taken on a “rat walk” to uncover the hidden world of their new foes, and taught about rat biology and how they interact with humans.
