As many as one million chickens were killed in Japan when an apparent theft of copper wires shut down air conditioning facilities at a poultry farm.
About 170 metres of wire connecting the farm building to an onsite power transformer were taken in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Shibukawa, about 90 minutes northwest of Tokyo.
