The International Boxing Association insisted that it had proof that two Olympic fighters who allegedly failed a gender test were male, before their semi-final bouts against women.
One of the fighters, Imane Khelif, appealed for an end to “bullying” after a global controversy when her first-round opponent abandoned the fight after 46 seconds to “save my life”.
