Within the world of statistics and reporting, it has become fashionable to attribute any and all disparities and inequities to discrimination. This is often either grossly exaggerated or, in some cases, simply not true. With the selective omission of facts, studies — motivated by confirmation bias — are often rationalized, post hoc, into an urgent issue that requires societal change.
