
To the outside world, Thomas Sibick seemed to have it made. He was 35 years old with a master’s degree in public health and a good job as an administrator. He lived in a flat with his girlfriend in his home town of Buffalo, New York.
His father Eugene was a successful dentist, his mother a teacher, and when Sibick and his three brothers were growing up they would spend school holidays in Florida or at the family’s second home in Canada.
