Joe Oliver: Canada’s irresolute response to Iranian terror reeks of moral rot

In the complicated world of international conflicts, contradictory moral positions can often be justified by competing narratives, conflicting facts, differing starting points and starkly opposed ideological perspectives. However, when large-scale heinous crimes are systematically committed by a murderous organization or nation state, responsible countries should take an unequivocal stand. High on a lengthy list of crimes against humanity are the Holocaust, the Ukrainian Holodomor, Khmer Rouge massacres in Cambodia, and the Hutu slaughter of Tutsis in Rwanda. Belatedly, most countries acknowledge that failure to mitigate or at least decry those monstrous tragedies was shameful.

Inviting Islamists to settle in Canada reeks of moral rot.

Smearing citizens as Islamophobes and Racists because they had the good common sense to object also reeks of moral rot.

Continuing to slavishly cultivate the Islamist vote goes beyond mere moral rot and is nothing less than satanic evil.
