However, a spokesperson for the department couldn’t comment specifically on a recent TikTok video that was shared to other social media sites purporting to show conservation officers “busting” salmon poachers in Bowmanville, 75 kilometres east of Toronto.
In the video, several large salmon are laid out on the ground before two people begin loading the fish into a cooler beside a parked vehicle. Enforcement officers can be seen off to the side before one official begins writing on a notepad.
