There’s always value in watching what’s going on in other countries to learn something about what is happening in your own.
As someone fascinated by British politics, I’ve been closely watching the political developments in the United Kingdom over the past year, particularly Labour’s 2024 electoral victory.
He won’t differ much on immigration from Trudeau, the numbers may come down but the pattern won’t change as Canada becomes the 3rd world.
He will play identity politics, just more discreetly.
Will he defund CBC? A little maybe but my guess is he will leave it mostly intact. He’ll still campaign on defunding of course.
Will he continue to fund the news media? Yes.
Will he end affirmative action hiring that legalizes discrimination against whites and especially white males? Not likely.
Will he do a DOGE on our massive public service vote bank? Not if he can swing it to his favour.
He won’t be Justin Trudeau and for most that’s all they need.
