A bar bill of £158,914 is rather steep for 101 drams of whisky. And the tipplers celebrating at a five-star Highlands hotel didn’t even wait for Hogmanay.
The receipt posted on social media shows a guest at The Fife Arms in the Aberdeenshire village of Braemar bought the rounds of scotch, the equivalent of three-and-a-half bottles, on December 30.
It appears that the group was large. The receipt showed two orders for a 15-dram round of separate whiskies. So they would have spent more than £10,000 each on an average 6.7 drams per person.
