The Doomsday Clock has once again ticked closer to midnight amid threats from climate change, nuclear war, pandemics and artificial intelligence.
The clock now reads 89 seconds to midnight, the closest it has been to 12 o’clock, which symbolises a hypothetical global catastrophe.
