An Albanian criminal jailed for more than three years for running a cannabis factory will not be deported after judges ruled it would deprive his daughter of a “male role model”.
Xhoni Leka arrived in the UK illegally in 2013 and was repeatedly refused residency before being caught in possession of class B drugs with intent to supply in 2020.
The Home Office served him with a deportation order but he successfully appealed by claiming it would breach his rights under Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights, which protects an individual’s right to a family life.
