Sounds like a good reason to ditch an EV and virtue signal at the same time!

I was happy to own and drive a Tesla — until Elon Musk went off the deep end. Now everything’s changed

Seeing a rust spot return to the door of my reliable Chevy Cruze’s was a sign that a new car was in my future. The Chevy was a practical, unsexy car purchase that I made because it had good gas mileage and I was supporting the Oshawa General Motors plant.

An electric vehicle made the most sense. I’d recently installed solar panels and was moving to be as carbon neutral as possible. Unfortunately, my car was dying during COVID and it was almost impossible to find an EV. The only available models were Teslas and the Chevy Bolt. One of those cars had solid reviews and great battery range, and the other lukewarm reviews and was being discontinued that year. So, a Tesla Model 3 it was. Even though I thought Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk was a bit odd, I pinched my nose and placed my order.

Smug, insufferable and so Canadian.
