A car has rammed through the crowd at the trophy parade celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League victory.
Merseyside Police has confirmed they are attending the scene after the car collided with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.

There is a large police presence around Water Street and Dale Street in Liverpool city centre this evening. Pictures show a large number of emergency services vehicles at the scene.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that people have been hit by a car. A police spokesperson said: “We are currently dealing with reports of a road traffic collision in Liverpool city centre.
Suspect was detained.

Update: 53-year-old British man arrested
Police confirmed that they had arrested a 53-year-old British man.
The force said: “We would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding tonight’s incident on Water Street in Liverpool city centre.
“We can confirm the man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area.
