You can now apply for a ‘bubble zone’ in Toronto to limit protests. An unexpected group will be in charge of enforcing them

Toronto has unveiled its website for those seeking “bubble zones” limiting protests within 50 metres of schools, daycares and places of worship — but it’s the unexpected group of city employees tasked with enforcing the controversial new rules that’s raising some eyebrows on council.

The legislation was more than a year in the making and was the subject of recurring debate at city hall before being approved in May.
