Gunman opens fire on Catholic Church during Mass – Minneapolis police say shooter ‘contained’

9:45 a.m. – An Annunciation parent who was sitting in the back pew at the 8:15 a.m. Mass said students were packed into the pews when a shooter opened fire outside the building with some kind of semiautomatic weapon.

“He just pepper-sprayed through the stained-glass windows into the building, 50 to 100 shots,” said the parent, who did not want his name used. “He killed two kids.”

“This is terrible,” he said. ”This is evil. I don’t know how you defend against this.”

UPDATE: The suspected gunman in a horrific church and school shooting in Minnesota took his own life after a rampage cops say killed at least two people and wounded as many as 20 others, with victims including kids and adults.

Police said the unidentified shooter — who was described as dressed in all black and armed with a rifle — died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Annunciation Church and school in Minneapolis.
