Returning to the White House this year, President Trump said he wanted to go down in history as a “peacemaker”.
On Friday he was set to announce that the Department of Defense would revert to its original name, the Department of War — an exercise that is expected to cost billions of dollars in signage, stationary and uniform.
The Department of War name was in use from 1789, shortly after the founding of the United States, until the late 1940s, after the Second World War.
