A French airliner was forced to circle for an hour over Corsica while ground staff tried to wake up the sleeping air traffic controller.
The Air Corsica Airbus A320 was descending shortly after midnight on Tuesday towards Napoléon Bonaparte airport in Ajaccio, capital of the French Mediterranean island, when the control tower failed to respond to radio calls.
