These are the facts: On Wednesday, Sept. 10, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was addressing hundreds of people at an event at Utah Valley University when, around 12:23 p.m., an assassin fired a bullet that tore through his neck and killed him.
Authorities arrested a suspect 33 hours later after a tip from his parents, based on surveillance footage shared by the FBI. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, had sent texts to his transgender lover confessing to the murder and suggesting a motive. “I had enough of his hatred,” one message read, referring to Kirk. “Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”
