Almost half of Britons think immigration is having a negative impact on the UK, survey finds

A summer of protests, marked by flags and fierce debate over asylum accommodation, has laid bare Britain’s deepening tensions.

An exclusive ITV News/Ipsos poll reveals the scale of that division, with 85% of Britons saying the country feels split – and many pointing to immigration as the root cause.

The poll surveyed around 2,000 Britons between October 31 and November 4 this year. Participants were aged between 16 and 75 years old, and were from a wide mix of ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds.
