Doug Ford wants more casinos in Niagara Falls — but does anyone else?
Premier Doug Ford’s big bet on “more casinos” for Niagara Falls may not pay off.
Ford unveiled a new economic development scheme this week to boost tourism in Ontario, including new gambling houses in the honeymoon capital, in a bid to double the number of annual visitors at wineries, restaurants and other attractions in Niagara Region.
“I’m thrilled to announce our government’s ‘Destination Niagara strategy,’ a multibillion-dollar plan to build new world class attractions, elevate Niagara’s casino and gaming experience — meaning we want more casinos, big, large casinos to come here,” the premier enthused Monday in the Falls.
This is Niagara Falls. Once a pristine White landscape with pleasant smells and sights —- suddenly transfigured into a unbearable place awash with south Asians owning lots of motels with the smell of curry everywhere. pic.twitter.com/yRLrH3MrZY
