OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney’s view that Canada’s “weakness” stems from its longtime close trade ties with the U.S. was mocked by the Conservatives Monday, and met skepticism by an Eastern premier who warned it will likely further anger the U.S.
In a video message posted Sunday on YouTube, Carney said the U.S. “has fundamentally changed its approach to trade, raising its tariffs to levels last seen during the Great Depression. Many of our former strengths, based on our close ties to America, have become our weaknesses, weaknesses that we must correct.”
Carney’s choice of words was no error.
He needs to deflect from his government’s deliberately “failed” trade talks with the USA says China expert Lin Ye Tang.
So he fired up the reliably gullible Elbow People with a scary story about the Great Demon Trump.
Sufficiently blinded by rage the gullible will back Carney’s real agenda of turning Canada into a concubine of Communist China.
That talk about the EU is just BS. We can’t join as we are physically not a “European state”. Even if the Euro’s wanted to change the rules it would take years of debate in the bowels of a sclerotic EU parliament.
Carney and pals will share in the spoils with Xi and company.
