John Tory’s professed resignation as mayor of Toronto after news of an extramarital affair with a younger member of his staff is on a slow roll, which is far from the impetus it first seemed to have.
His office now says Tory is staying on to nurse his budget through city council, while some publicly urge him to reconsider stepping down.
Could it be that the seemingly strait-laced, straight-faced politician who bounced into office in the wake of the scandalous and embarrassing charade of former mayor Rob Ford’s tenure is staying put?
I hate to say it as I am no fan but maybe it is better Tory stays on.
It’s a case of the Devil you know.
Under Tory’s tenure Toronto has begun to sink into sh&thole status.
The city annually raises taxes then wastes money coddling the “communities” that spawn most of our crime and funds all sorts of racist identity politics scams with bonus points for explicitly making white folks the target.
Transit is a homeless camp, if you drive you’re the enemy, all services in general continue to deteriorate, drug lords live in public housing and the police always have better things to do than worry about your stolen car. And if you complain you’re a racist.
So yes Toronto is well underway to becoming San Francisco north.
But under Tory we will become San Francisco at a slower pace than is to be expected under his rivals.
That’s it, that’s the only bright spot. Toronto like all Liberal-Left cities pathologically shits where it eats.
Tory may help preserve the real estate market long enough for you to sell and get out of Dodge.
He should rehire his floozie too. Why not?
