Canada Did Not Make America Great

Smart people who dislike President Trump are capable of saying the stupidest things. Take, for example, Hal Brands, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, whose latest column in Bloomberg is titled “Canada Made America Great.” Even if Brands didn’t pick the title, his article expresses concern that President Trump’s hostility to our northern neighbor will in “military, geostrategic and moral terms … bring a heavy price” to U.S. national security policy. “Trump,” he writes, “is tempting America’s neighbor to seek security by aligning with outside powers,” namely the U.K. and Europe. Brands knows, of course, that Canada is already aligned with the U.K. and much of Europe in NATO. But he implies that a hostile Canada would be a threat to U.S. security.

Inside the mystery of the ‘lost German girl’

For years, ever since the footage appeared in TV documentaries and online, the identity and fate of the so-called ‘Lost German Girl’ has proved captivating.

Dressed in a nondescript uniform and with a swollen face betraying that she had been savagely beaten, she was seen walking down a road in liberated Czechoslovakia.

The date was May 7, 1945, the very day that Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies after the suicide of Adolf Hitler in his Berlin Bunker.

This is the closest I could find to the original footage shot by Haglund it is only available on YouTube.

The footage shows living SS men who were later filmed dead by the road side having been the subjects of reprisal.

Why Trump?

The question comes to me from more and more Europeans these days: “Do you still support Donald Trump after all of this?”

By “all of this,” they usually mean the bizarre and destructive tariffs regime the White House rolled out in April, on what Trump called “Liberation Day.” But there is more, of course: Trump’s harsh deportation regime against illegal migrants, his substantive assault on universities, his wrecking of the NATO alliance, his weird trolling of Canada (“America’s 51st State”) and Denmark, over Greenland, et cetera.

SLOBODIAN: Secrets buried with COVID?

Early on in the COVID-19 ‘pandemic’ that terrified, traumatized and financially devastated so many Canadians, one priority weighed heavily on the federal Liberal government.

That was to protect itself from criticism or embarrassment… and also from legal liability surrounding the $8 billion that taxpayers paid for COVID-19 vaccines to seven pharmaceutical companies — including Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca.

Frustrations rise as human waste on Vancouver streets reaches peak levels

It is a true city-dweller skill to be capable of walking while simultaneously engaging in conversation, scanning the pavement ahead and being prepared, with the stealth of an assassin, to sidestep, dive, or change course at a mere moment’s notice.

Abandoned dog mess on urban streets is an issue common in cities across the world, but in Vancouver, the obstacle course that awaits unsuspecting pedestrians is unique in that there’s an extra layer of difficulty not typically found elsewhere.

As public defecation in the city reaches new heights, residents, business owners and Business Improvement Areas leaders are calling for action that goes beyond the routine clean-ups.

Canada’s War on… Canada

Canada is walking down a dangerous path. In a recent episode of “The Winston Marshall Show,” Steve Bannon has warned that “Canada could become ‘the next Ukraine’ if Russia or China presses territorial claims in the Arctic. “There’s no money there to defend anybody,” Bannon said, arguing that the United Kingdom, Canada’s historic security partner, “can’t defend itself.” Bannon suggested that Ottawa has only “two, maybe three years to act before external pressures harden.”

Ottawa hired U.K. contractor to monitor pro-Israel social media posts

The Canadian government paid $128,000 to a U.K. firm to monitor Canadian pro-Israel social media accounts, which framed many of them as “right-wing extremists” motivated by “anti-Muslim hatred.”

Among the activities highlighted as being evidence of rising right-wing extremism in Canada was “discontentment with pro-Palestine protests” and even the accusation that some federal politicians were “more dedicated to matters in Gaza than Canadian affairs.”

In April Global News, a bought Liberal Party of Canada propaganda outfit attempted to pass off ISD – Institute for Strategic Dialogue as a legitimate organization:

Global News cites Soros funded WEF adjacent pro-censorship extremists as authoritative source: Domestic extremists pushing ‘corrosive’ narratives in Canada’s election

GUNTER: Clever move by Danielle Smith with Alberta Next initiative aimed at Ottawa

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith isn’t “stoking the fire of Alberta separation” by warning that unless the federal Liberal government changes its approach to Alberta, a separatist movement is bound to grow in the province.

Smith has repeatedly claimed she is not a separatist. Personally she sees many benefits to Alberta remaining in a united Canada. She said so again on Monday in a 19-minute, online address to Albertans.

The Next Pope Needs to Preserve Judeo-Christian Civilization

While the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics wait prayerfully for the elevation to the papacy of the 267th pope, successor to the Christ-appointed St. Peter, most of the rest of humanity may be wondering what impact the new pontiff could have on global affairs.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leadership, which did not send a representative to the funeral of Pope Francis, has cause to be attentive. If this week’s Papal Conclave selects Philippines Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, the Archbishop of Manila, CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping would have reason for concern.

That includes not kissing Islamist feet.

FUSS: CBC ‘fact-checker’ gets his facts wrong

At all times, during an election period and beyond, the media must report accurate information and, when necessary, correct the record. For example, following the English-language federal leaders’ debate on April 17, CBC reporter Jonathon Gatehouse appeared on CBC News and “fact-checked” a statement by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, who had referenced a study published by the Fraser Institute. Unfortunately, during the segment, Gatehouse got his facts wrong.

That’s the CBC’s job.
