Sometimes data or information that seems completely disconnected can tell a story when taken together. I experienced that recently. Over the course of a few days I saw a number of posts on X that caught my attention. First was a post stating that “Whites make up only 8% of the world’s population… so in fact, we are the minority.” That 8% is down from a peak of approximately 25% in the 19th century.
LAST week a Florida judge reignited a debate that much of the modern West has tried desperately to avoid: what exactly is surrogacy?
For years, surrogacy has been wrapped in the language of compassion, empowerment and ‘family creation’. Celebrities celebrate it. Corporations market it. Politicians avoid scrutinising it too closely. Critics are dismissed as extremists, religious conservatives or people standing in the way of happiness.
Presidential primary polling this far out can best be taken with a few small salt hills, but it’s not completely meaningless this far out and the Emerson numbers are interesting in that they show the two likeliest candidates, Newsom and Kamala, failing to make much headway.

Seven Afghan men – five of whom entered the UK on a small boat – have been charged with 40 offences after an investigation into a grooming gang in Norwich. Of the remaining two, one came to the UK concealed on a lorry and another arrived through ‘a port’, according to the BBC. All arrived illegally, none speaks English and all are classified as ‘refugees’. The charges relate to two girls, aged in their early to mid-teens at the time of the alleged offences, which police say occurred between August 2023 and May 2025.

The case of Eric Richins, whose wife Kouri was recently convicted of his aggravated murder, is a case study of a man’s entrapment in an abusive and ultimately fatal marriage. Not surprisingly, however, his killing has not been discussed as an example of intimate-partner violence.
Hundreds of men—over one thousand in 2021—are murdered in the United States every year by their wives or girlfriends. But we are told repeatedly that because these murders are only a small percentage of domestic violence murders, they are of no importance.
Is Canada on track to meet its climate goals? The honest answer is “no” — and the really honest answer is that Canada’s climate goals will never be reached. They are folly and were designed by climate ideologues who had no concept of consequence, economic reality or understanding of how Canada was founded and thrived before and after we became a nation. This way of thinking has damaged the country.
The debate is increasingly polarized with positions hardened on all sides. Yet the economic implications of net-zero policies cannot be ignored. In an increasingly unstable world, energy security is no longer theoretical — it is strategic. Climate policy that outpaces economic reality will not succeed.

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government is abandoning efforts by his predecessor to reintroduce into the Canadian Human Rights Act the ability to bring forward complaints of online hate speech.

Henry Nowak was 18, and at the end of his first term at Southampton University, when he was murdered. Around 11:30 p.m. on 3 December last year, Henry was walking back from a night out with his university football team. He hadn’t drunk heavily – during the trial we heard that he was below the drink driving limit. On the way home Henry encountered Vickrum Digwa, the 23-year-old Sikh man who would murder him.
