No space for SUVs? Paris to vote on tripling parking fees

‘More or less SUVs in Paris?’

The stylized red car splashed against a black background certainly looks threatening. The question posed on posters lining the streets of the French capital ahead of a referendum on Sunday is rhetorical: “Do you want more SUVs on the streets of Paris or fewer?”

Mayor Anne Hidalgo is hoping the 1.3 million Parisians entitled to vote will opt for the latter choice. “The bigger, the more environmentally damaging” is how the center-left politician sums up her views on cars. It’s around this stance, and others, that she has been radically remodeling Paris in recent years.

You can bet this is on Chowtown’s agenda.

Canada’s failure to act against transnational crime is imperiling US national security

Trudeau won’t act because they’re Liberal Party donors in one fashion or another.

The magnitude of the Oct. 7 attacks has prompted Israel to draw up plans for a “new security reality”, encompassing the threat that the Iranian regime and regional proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah pose to its existence. The Netanyahu government has also stepped up its anti-terror financing efforts and seized significant funds intended for use by these terror groups.

However, while Israel has woken up to that grave reality, the same cannot be said about Canada as it lags noticeably behind, particularly in its efforts to curb terror financing and transnational crime.

NYC professor that held machete to Post reporter’s neck fired from Cooper Union over anti-Israel rants

She already has a machete — now she’s gotten the ax.

Shellyne Rodriguez, the nutty professor caught on camera holding the blade to a Post reporter’s neck in May has been fired from her latest teaching gig at Cooper Union for anti-Israel screeds, The Post has learned.

“Cooper Union has fired me because of a social media post I made about ‘Zionists,’” Rodriguez, 47, wrote in an email to students a week after the spring semester kicked off.

I am happy she lost her job.

What would really make me happy is to see the anti-White racists populating Canadian institutions lose theirs as well.

Murders Rarely Committed by Legal Firearm Owners: Statistics Canada

While the rate of homicides involving a firearm has increased in Canada, those crimes are not usually committed by people who have a licence for the weapon, according to a Statistics Canada report.

“The firearms used in homicides were rarely legal firearms used by their legal owners who were in good standing,” said the report, titled Firearms and Violent Crime in Canada 2022.

Dead people should be able to change their gender, says Labour MP

A Labour MP has called for the law to be changed so that transgender people can have their gender changed posthumously in official records.

In a written question to Parliament last month, Charlotte Nichols, the party’s representative for Warrington North, asked if the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) 2004 could be changed “to allow transgender people who are deceased to be legally remembered by the gender they lived by”.

The Clapham attack endangers the social contract

Both ends of society are undermining postwar norms

By now the chemical attack perpetrated in Clapham by the Afghan sex offender and asylum seeker Abdul Ezedi has triggered full-throated pandemonium. Ezedi entered the UK on a lorry, had his asylum claim declined twice, was convicted of a sex offence, and was finally granted asylum after claiming to have converted to Christianity. Now he is on the run after throwing corrosive chemicals over a toddler. Not without reason, many are wondering: why was he here at all?

‘Global concern’: High stakes for Canada to have role in widening U.S.-Iran conflict, experts say

Get them Houthis!

Canada will likely have a role in supporting the United States with its retaliatory attacks against Iranian proxies in Syria and Iraq following a deadly drone strike against U.S. troops last weekend in Jordan, say some Canadian analysts.

When asked if Canada would be involved in the growing conflict, the federal government declined to speculate on what it would be.

Despite Talk of Parental Rights, Ontario Schools Still Keep Gender Changes Secret

While Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce and Premier Doug Ford have both said parents should be informed when their children are transitioning genders at school, the province’s school boards have continued with policies that parents should not be informed.

“To date, not one Ontario school board has adopted a policy to require parental involvement in these sensitive interventions,” Julia Malott, a transgender person vocally in favour of parental rights, wrote in an op-ed for the National Post on Jan. 21.

Ford may be in for a rude awakening if he keeps this crap up.

Greens try to flip the script: Blame conservatives, not the Green Deal

LYON, France — We have met the enemy, and he is not us.

That was the defiant battle cry in southern France over the weekend, where Europe’s green politicians had gathered under a cloud of fury seemingly directed at them.

Farmers have taken to the streets in recent weeks to protest EU environmental regulations and cross-border competition while demanding better wages — issues that could easily be lumped under the Green Deal umbrella, a slate of climate-friendly policies that literally bear the European Green Party’s name.

The covid booster cancer time bomb

I HAVE previously reported on my concern about the rise in stable cancer relapses that I have witnessed in my melanoma clinic.

None of these patients of mine presented with the classic prodrome of relapse that I had always noticed previously, such as severe depression due to bereavement, divorce or bankruptcy. Indeed the only thing I found they had in common was to have had a recent booster mRNA covid vaccine. I phoned around my colleagues not only in the UK but also in Australia to check their experience. In no case did they deny such a link. Indeed, they were equally alarmed at the association between booster vaccines and relapse that they too were witnessing, as well an increase in new cancers, particularly in those below 50 years old. In addition to melanoma these colleagues were also very concerned about a sudden big increase in young patients with colorectal cancer.

No, you don’t need to be disabled to play Richard III

Richard III

The Globe Theatre in London has come under fire for a supposedly controversial casting choice. Last week, it was announced that Michelle Terry, who is also the Globe’s artistic director, would be taking on the titular role in Shakespeare’s Richard III later this summer. Outrage immediately ensued. Because according to identitarian activists, Terry doesn’t have the ‘lived experience’ needed to play the scheming king.
