Hamas Terrorist Supporters Hijacking the Public Space

Blocking highways and disrupting public events on behalf of Nazis.

It’s astounding to think that a war anywhere in the world would become such a public cause by supporters of one side or another that it would dominate and even hijack the public space. That has not happened even with Russia’s attack on Ukraine, even with the wide display of blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag in solidarity with their plight, and a corresponding wide boycott of Russia and Russian products.

New Year’s Eve Violence Tears Across Western Europe

Violence was rife yet again in many major Western European cities on New Year’s Eve, with rioting, brawling, attacks on emergency services, and the burning of cars becoming regular attractions in migrant-majority districts.

As we reported on Tuesday, January 2nd, German authorities and politicians are describing scenes of violence on New Year’s Eve as the “new normal”, after yet another night of crimes committed on the streets of Berlin and other cities.

Israel’s peers warn against displacing Palestinians in Gaza to places like Canada

Palestinians. Casual get together,

OTTAWA – Countries traditionally aligned with Israel are warning its right-wing government against contemplating a displacement of people who live in the Gaza Strip, as Israeli officials repeatedly suggest Canada could take in Palestinians.

This week, Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said his country should “encourage migration” of Palestinians from Gaza and re-establish Jewish settlements there, echoing similar comments from National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller is condemning remarks from both politicians as “inflammatory and irresponsible,” while French President Emmanuel Macron calls them “unacceptable” comments.

This is a great way to lose support Israel.

Consumers Are Rejecting the Great Reset

A friend got a rental of a Tesla over the holidays. It’s undoubtedly the industry standard for EVs and a complete blast to drive. The problem: It’s not a practical car at all. He was driving in the cold, and the car was nearly drained after two hours. Searching for a charge was no easy task. The first one didn’t work. The second one stated that it would be charged in 10 hours, which he didn’t have. The third one charged in one hour but that was a full hour wasted.

His conclusion: This is indeed a glorified golf cart designed to keep you at home and under the thumb of the manufacturer. And this is just a test. The repairs are worse. Keep in mind that this is the best the industry has to offer. The other manufacturers of these things make products not nearly as highly rated, which is why so many of them are sitting on lots unsold and why orders for the machines are plummeting.

US Jews in retreat

This is so unjust

You fall asleep with an American Dream, and wake up with an American Nightmare.

The image that haunts me is the sight of Jewish college students who rush for safety in the school library for fear of being attacked by a mob of misfits.

That was how we closed out the year 2023, and in 2024, it starts all over again. Happy New Year.

Lawsuit claims Brampton company ‘refused to provide services to Jews,’ after buses to Ottawa rally failed to show

The UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, a local Jewish charity, has launched a lawsuit against a Brampton company that described itself as a broker of transportation services, for allegedly “refusing to provide services to Jews.”

In the statement of claim for the lawsuit, obtained by the Star, UJA said it paid a nearly $70,000 deposit to secure 27 buses for transporting people to a rally against antisemitism in Ottawa early last month. Most buses never showed and the money was never returned, the group alleges.

The God of Lincoln

… This God of Lincoln is a fleeting glimpse of the one we need to discover in our own hearts and bring into our public life. Our only way forward, you see, is to rediscover the will of God as Lincoln knew it. The will of Lincoln’s God only exists in “the now”. What will come after the present moment – the rest of life- is to be acted out by all of us.

Against Mathiness

Principles for effective use of math in policy research, Part 1

Last November, I had the privilege of speaking at UCLA in the Jacob Marschak Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Mathematics in the Behavioral Sciences. My lecture was titled “Mathiness where Science Meets Politics,” and I provided a tour of research that I’ve been involved in over the past 30 years that has — for better or worse — made its way into highly contested settings where science, policy and politics collide.

The FBI-Tainted Whitmer ‘Kidnap Plot’ You’ve Heard Next to Nothing About

In a fiery exchange last month, CNN anchorwoman Abby Phillip told GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy that there was “no evidence” to support his claim that federal agents abetted protesters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Ramaswamy shot back that the FBI conspicuously has never denied that law enforcement agents were on duty in the crowd. He argued that federal officials have repeatedly “lied” to the American people about not only that investigation but one that has gotten much less attention: the alleged failed plot to kidnap and kill Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan in 2020.

We Need to Talk About That ‘Inevitable’ Switch to Electric Vehicles

Two of Hollywood’s great sci-fi villains from the last quarter century — Agent Smith from “The Matrix” and Marvel’s Thanos — both believed that the success of their evil schemes was inevitable. “You hear that, Mr. Anderson?” Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) asked in the first (and only) Matrix movie as he pinned his opponent in front of an oncoming subway train. “That is the sound of inevitability… It is the sound of your death… Goodbye, Mr. Anderson.”
