Why aren’t Jewish groups fighting DEI-based antisemitism?

They’re a little late to the party, but nevertheless still very welcome. The separate statements of Abe Foxman, the former head of the Anti-Defamation League, and David Harris, the former head of the American Jewish Committee, calling for the elimination of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs is welcome. They were dominant figures in the organized Jewish world for a generation and are still regarded as among the most influential voices in the community. So for both of them to come out as opponents of an ideology that has largely taken over the education system, as well as making serious inroads into the corporate world and government, is no small thing.

Groups like the ADL joined in the pile on as the target was white people.

OTTAWA – NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is ruling out the possibility of forming a coalition government with the Liberals if no party wins a clear majority after the next federal election.

“That’s off the table,” Singh said in a year-end interview with The Canadian Press, even though the two parties have been working closely together.

Trudeau’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad 2023, and what comes next

A year in which everything seemed to go sidewards for the Liberal government began with a pair of modest victories for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The first, an agreement signed in early February with the provinces, to bolster health care transfers by $46.2 billion. The premiers left Ottawa grumbling, as they always do, about the size of the cash infusion, but all agreed to it. Trudeau predicted the new money would “protect our health care system now and into the future.” For the moment, there was a measure of rare peace with the provinces on health funding.

A third of Arab Israelis polled see Oct. 7 massacre as being in tune with Islamic values

Palestinian culture

One-third of Israel’s Arab citizens disagree with Ra’am lawmaker Mansour Abbas’s statement that Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre “does not reflect Arab society, the Palestinian people and the Islamic nation,” according to a recent poll.

Thirty-three percent of all Arab Israelis surveyed disagreed with the statement while a further 11% “didn’t know.” Among Muslim Arabs only (separating out Druze and Christians) the number was larger still, with 34.5% disagreeing with the statement and 12.5% answering “didn’t know.”

Kelly McParland: Justin Trudeau’s naive EV plan hands the keys to China

First off, let’s be clear that I have nothing against electric vehicles. Never mind saving the planet, who wants to pull up to a grimy gas pump on a howling winter day and risk hypothermia for the privilege of paying whatever ransom oil companies are demanding for another tankful of “dirty” fuel?

So fine, electricity is good. But let’s be serious. Canada is just the latest country to set a firm date for the future to arrive. In our case it’s 2035, when gas guzzlers are out. No high-test for you! It will be a new dawn, an electric vehicle (EV) world. Ready or not, here we come.

We are governed by the stupid high school students.

If Donald Trump becomes US president again, here’s what he’ll do

Heeee’s baaaaaack!

Donald Trump is the clear favourite to return as the Republican candidate for US president, and opinion polls also give him the edge in a rematch with the visibly ageing Joe Biden.

If it seems like Trump never went away, that’s because his enormous ego refused to let go of the job that he claims to this day was stolen from him in a rigged election. He has never conceded defeat.

Hemingway, and the antisemitism also rises

Like many of you, I’ve got relatives and children of friends in the IDF who are right now risking life and limb for all of us, deep in the tunnels of Gaza.

G-d spare us the details until they return to us safely. We will know later what it must be like in the belly of the beast.

Seldom, if ever before, have our guys, our kids, had to endure anything like this. Oct 7 changed everything, even the way we think, from this distance here in America, where the streets once supposedly paved with gold, are now stomped with antisemites. This is our lot, our portion, through what’s known as the butterfly effect.

Mexican villagers who killed extortionists ‘acted in self-defence’

Mexican villagers who killed 10 members of the notorious Familia Michoacana criminal gang will not be facing any charges after prosecutors ruled they had acted in self-defence.

Prosecutors said that the residents of Texcapilla had come “under constant threat” from the gang, which had tried to extort money from farmers.

They were summoned to a football pitch where gang members opened fire on them.

But they fought back with weapons including shotguns and machetes.

Who Supports Hamas?

The main groups that comprise the bulk of organizers and demonstrators who have supported the Hamas barbarism against Israel are:

1) Radical Islamic groups that, like the Islamic Republic of Iran after the 1979 revolution, regard Israel as the “Little Satan” and America as the “Big Satan.”

2) American revolutionary groups who used to be affiliated with Communism but now call themselves radical socialists or workers parties. Their goal is to overthrow our government and they attach themselves to every disruptive movement in the hope of garnering support and creating distrust for American democracy.

3) Old-fashioned anti-Semites who hate anything associated with Jews and concoct conspiracy theories that blame “the Jews” for all evils.

4) Useful idiots who have little or no knowledge of the issues but march in lockstep with all “woke,” “hard left,” and “anti-colonial” causes on the theory that “if it’s left, it must be right.”
