Prague gunman ‘murdered a man and his newborn baby in chilling “dry run” in nearby village’ – a week before killing his own dad

The gunman who unleashed terror on Prague is now suspected of shooting dead a man and his newborn baby in a ‘random’ attack at a forest near the Czech capital last week, police have revealed.

David Kozak, 24, killed 14 people and injured 25 during a rampage in which he targeted students at his university in downtown Prague, police said, adding that he was shot dead after carrying out the horrific attack.

Kozak murdered his father in the town of Hostoun before heading into the Czech capital where he began randomly shooting people from the balcony of Charles University Arts faculty.

How realistic is another American civil war?

It’s a notion which 10 years ago would have been unthinkable: that America might be on the brink of a second civil war. Yet, as the 2024 election approaches, high-profile Republicans are discussing a “national divorce”, leading academics are examining the possibility, and Hollywood is cashing in. The trailer for Alex  Garland’s upcoming film Civil War has recently been released and it paints a truly dystopian picture, from the Lincoln Memorial shrouded in black smoke to the federal government conducting air strikes on its own citizens. But is it realistic? Were a second civil war to erupt in 2024, would it really play out in such a blockbuster fashion?

Canada intelligence operation put diplomats in legal ‘grey zone’ – report

A controversial intelligence-gathering program run by Canada’s foreign affairs ministry operates in a “distinctly grey zone”, puts its officers at risk and breaches global diplomatic conventions, says a damning watchdog report.

Canada’s global security reporting program (GSRP), a critical part of the foreign ministry’s security and intelligence footprint overseas, places officers in countries with “poor human rights records” including Ethiopia, India, Egypt, Turkey, Israel and China.

2 doctors told him he had a fatal disease and wouldn’t live until Christmas. They were wrong

A Winnipeg man who was misdiagnosed with a fatal disease by two different doctors says anybody believed to have a life-threatening condition should be sent to a specialist in the field for final determination.

A neurologist at Sunnybrook Hospital agrees.

Fredrik Bergstrom, 51, went to see his family physician in March after developing a limp and numbness in one foot for no apparent reason.

The Bank of Canada is researching a digital version of cash. Here’s what that could mean for you

For the last few years, the Bank of Canada has been working on the logistics of a potential Central Bank Digital Currency: a purely digital form of the Canadian dollar. While the choice about whether to launch a CBDC rests with the federal government, the central bank has said it wants to be prepared for the possibility — especially as Canadians increasingly use digital methods of payment in their daily lives.

Here’s how a CBDC might work, and why the Bank of Canada is considering one.

They know everything about you already, not sure this will make it easier.

Trudeau panders to Hamas supporters and invites Gazans to Canada

Canada launching new temporary immigration measures for family members of Canadians in Gaza

Canada is rolling out new temporary immigration measures to help individuals in Gaza who are related to Canadians, as well as Israelis and Palestinians already in Canada, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister Marc Miller announced Thursday.

The federal government is making fee-exempt study permits or open work permits available for immediate family members of Canadian citizens or permanent residents, provided that they currently live in Canada, and that they left Israel or the Palestinian territories on or after Oct. 7.

‘We feel isolated. We feel scared’: What life is like for Canadian Jews after Hamas attack

Hamas Support Rally Toronto

Georganne Burke brought her family to Canada from the U.S. decades ago, picking Toronto because it was a demonstrably great place to be Jewish.

“We wanted to be able to have the stores and the restaurants and things that would make it easy for us to be observant,” says Burke, who now lives in Ottawa. “It was a wonderful, amazing place to … raise kids in a Jewish environment. It was fantastic.”

Hamas endorsed Trudeau says allies ‘increasingly concerned’ about Israel’s tactics eroding its international support

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he’s worried that Israel’s tactics in the war against Hamas could put its long-term security and diplomatic support at risk.

In a year-end interview with CBC News chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton, the prime minister suggested that some of Israel’s other allies share that concern.

“The voices from Israel’s strongest friends, like Canada, like Australia, especially like the United States … are becoming increasingly concerned that … the short-term actions being taken by Israel are actually putting at risk the long-term safety and even support for a Jewish state into the future,” Trudeau told Barton.

I doubt Israel gives a shit about Junior’s opinion.

Gen Z’s views on Israel and Jews are a disturbing betrayal of their own values

On the morning of Shabbat, Oct. 7, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, murdering, torturing and raping more than 1,200 men, women and children, including babies, and kidnapping 240 more.

The tragic events reminded the world of the existential threats Israel faces.

Speaking as the spokesperson for the Israeli consulate in New York, these attacks were pivotal in shaping my perspective on America’s current and future public opinion toward Israel.

Danielle Smith vows to fight Trudeau’s ‘unconstitutional’ plan to ban gas-powered cars

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith made it crystal clear that she intends to fight with “everything” at her disposal what she called an “unconstitutional” new federal government mandate that all new cars and trucks by 2035 be electric, which would in effect ban the sale of new gasoline- or diesel- only powered vehicles after that year.

Assisted dying is a slippery slope – just look at the US, Canada and Holland

The Church of England has warned that countries where assisted dying is legal have shown that it can lead to a “slippery slope” where it becomes easier and easier to get help to end one’s life.

In a submission to MPs, the Church said that when the law had been changed in other countries, such as Canada and the US, stringent safeguards had been dropped over time, opening up assisted dying to more and more people.

Canada has become world famous for a lot of crappy things under Trudeau.
