Impeachment inquiry threatens Biden with election-year headache

By voting to formally authorise the congressional investigation into Joe Biden, Republicans in the House of Representatives have started the ball rolling towards his impeachment.

It may be difficult to stop.

Three of the four previous times the House took this step, the chamber ultimately opted to impeach. The one time it did not was because Richard Nixon resigned before a vote could be held.

Biden and his creepy family need to go.

There are no solutions to Canada’s housing crisis – only trade-offs

American economist Thomas Sowell once said that “there are no solutions, only trade-offs.” That is, dealing with a problem entails making a choice, and doing so entails forgoing the alternatives.

For example, damming a river to protect a town from seasonal flooding means accepting that a reservoir will form on other side of the dam. The reservoir – and all it may entail for its natural surroundings – is deemed preferable to the potential damage that yearly flooding would do to the town.

As Russia Gains Confidence, a New Urgency Grips Ukraine

Ukraine faces dwindling reserves of ammunition, personnel and Western support. The counteroffensive it launched six months ago has failed. Moscow, once awash in recriminations over a disastrous invasion, is celebrating its capacity to sustain a drawn-out war.

The war in Ukraine has reached a critical moment, as months of brutal fighting have left Moscow more confident and Kyiv unsure of its prospects.

Guilbeault hails ‘monumental’ COP28 deal, others warn of ‘dangerous distractions’

Canada’s environment minister hailed a “monumental” deal on Wednesday to close out COP28, the first time the United Nations climate summit of nearly 200 countries agreed to transition away from fossil fuels.

The agreement approved in Dubai was welcomed by some observers as a historic turning point in global climate negotiations and stronger than a draft floated earlier in the week.

But many warned of what they saw as loopholes and distractions included in the agreement that could undermine the action needed to meet the global commitment to keep temperature rise to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial times.

Guilebeault acts like a deranged Skipper barking out orders while oblivious to his sinking ship.

Canadian cities report rise in homelessness and in tent fires as winter sets in

HALIFAX – Cities across Canada are reporting a rise in fires, sometimes deadly, in tents and other shelters used by unhoused people — a situation advocates say is a tragic consequence of the country’s homelessness crisis.

As the number of homeless people continues to rise — and the frigid weather sets in — it’s inevitable there will be more accidental fires, Tim Richter, president and CEO of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, said in an interview Wednesday.

“If all you can get your hands on is a propane tank or a camp stove, you’ll use that to survive because the alternative is freezing to death,” said Richter, whose group estimates there are between 260,000 and 300,000 unhoused people across the country.

US Lawmakers Push Canada To Designate Iranian Guard Corps as Terrorist Group

Don’t believe a thing this lying punk says.

A bipartisan coalition in Congress is pressuring Canada to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, with the lawmakers warning that “neither engagement nor concessions will change” Tehran’s appetite for destruction.

“By officially designating the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organization, Canada can join the United States in once again contributing to the global fight against terrorism, demonstrating a strong commitment to ensuring peace and stability,” the group of 14 House lawmakers wrote in a letter sent Wednesday to Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau and obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. “It is vital that Canada recognizes the threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran and takes all appropriate steps to address it.”

Trudeau is as stupid as he is dangerous.

Sikh terrorists, Palestinian Terrorists, Iranian Terrorists, Bangladesh Terrorists – Canada is the 1st Post Modern Terrorist State.

DEI Is Welfare For People Like Claudine Gay Who Couldn’t Get A Job Without Identity Politics

Claudine Gay – DEI Dunce

The board of Harvard unanimously voted to retain the university’s president Claudine Gay despite her public refusal to say that calls for genocide of Jewish students would contradict Harvard’s code of conduct — and subsequent allegations of past plagiarism.

“Our extensive deliberations affirm our confidence that President Gay is the right leader to help our community heal and to address the very serious societal issues we are facing,” the Harvard Corporation announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Get Out Your Gunboats? War Clouds Scud Over Venezuela and Guyana

Around the globe, Washington juggles three crises: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Israel’s war with Hamas, and Chinese belligerence over January’s presidential election in Taiwan. Now, Venezuela’s revolutionary socialist president, Nicolás Maduro, is adding a new one, on South America’s northern coast.

Thursday, Venezuela’s dictator meets with President Irfaan Ali, the democratically-elected leader of Guyana, Venezuela’s sparsely populated neighbor to the east. The goal is to head off South America’s first war since Argentina and Britain fought over the Falkland Islands in 1982.
