CSIS warns of Chinese recruitment campaign targeting Canadian government employees

Canada’s spy agency is warning of a Chinese plot to recruit Canadian government officials and academics.

In an alert sent to federal employees earlier this month and seen by CBC News, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) warns of a large-scale email campaign trying to lure workers into an overseas talent program.

“The [People’s Republic of China] is likely using this recruitment campaign to acquire Canadian knowledge and expertise,” says the alert.

A Dirty Little Secret About Drudge

It’s no secret that for years, the Drudge Report drove conservative (and often mainstream) media news cycles. If Drudge was talking about it, you could bet everyone from Rush Limbaugh to Fox News to PJ Media was also discussing it. In fact, there was a symbiotic relationship between Drudge’s aggregated links and the pages of most conservative media outlets. Pretty much everyone was either getting story prompts from Drudge or sending him stories (often via AOL Instant Messenger) hoping he’d link them.

Never had a Drudge link. My first big link way back when came from Little Green Footballs to a story on a meetup held by local Islamists and Liberal-Left types.

I was fortunate to receive several from Instapundit over the years, the first being a story on the TDSB teaching that only white people could be racist. This was long before anyone mentioned CRT or DEI. Heady times indeed.

Freed China detainee Michael Kovrig breaks silence, says allegations linked to Michael Spavor are ‘baffling’ and ‘hurtful’

OTTAWA—Michael Kovrig, the former Canadian diplomat whose detention in China caused a global uproar, is breaking his silence to make it clear: he was not, and never has been, a spy.

In an exclusive series of interviews with the Star, Kovrig pushed back at a recent media report that alleges fellow detainee, Canadian Michael Spavor, is claiming he was duped by Kovrig into giving up information on North Korea, which Spavor claims is the reason he was arrested.

Unprecedented mass migration threatens to erode our national values

It is almost impossible to effectively integrate such a large number of people at once

We need to reduce immigration not just to lessen the pressure on the country’s infrastructure and public services. Net migration at the current, massive rate is in danger of damaging social cohesion and eroding our national values.

There has rightly been a lot of focus on the latest net migration figure, which was this week revealed to be 672,000 for the 12 months to June 2023. Net migration for 2022 was also revised upwards to 745,000 – a new record. If immigration continues at the same pace, Britain’s population could soar to around 85 million by 2046.

These figures fly in the face of repeated promises that net migration will come down.

How is it that main stream media in Great Britain can address the issue of mass immigration with an honesty unheard of in Canada’s press?

Jesse Kline: Israel’s hostage deal is worth the sacrifice

Late in the afternoon on Friday (morning here in Canada), as the sun was setting over the Gaza Strip, 13 hostages kidnapped by Hamas were handed over to the Red Cross, loaded into ambulances and transported safely to Egypt, before making their way back to Israel. In exchange, 39 Palestinian prisoners, some of whom participated in stabbing attacks against Israelis, gain their freedom. Despite appearances that Hamas is coming out on top here, it is a necessary sacrifice on the part of the Israelis.

Security sources give Hamas until midnight to release hostages

Hamas delays release of second group of hostages; Israeli security sources warn ground operations will resume if hostages are not released by midnight.

Israeli security sources have warned that if Hamas delays the release of the second group of hostages, Israel will resume ground operations in Gaza.

Earlier on Saturday, Hamas’ military arm said that it decided to delay the release of the second group of hostages, until Israel “meets the terms of the agreement to allow humanitarian aid trucks into northern Gaza.”

According to the security sources, on Friday as well “Hamas played during the last moments, and changed the route by which the hostages would be transferred, in opposition to what had been planned.”

Bentley driver was ‘alert and not impaired’ while desperately slamming on brakes of $300,000 supercar as it flew through the air and exploded in deadly Niagara Falls crash

The driver of a Bentley that exploded on Rainbow Bridge earlier this week was ‘alert and not impaired’ as he desperately slammed on the brakes, according to an expert.

Vincent A. Ettari, a civil engineer, told The New York Times that he believes Kurt Villani was frantically slamming the brakes of his 2022 Flying Spur as it exploded on Wednesday.

Villani and his wife Monica, both 53, had been on their way to a KISS concert when the horror crash took place on Wednesday.

Canada’s is under no obligation to assist Hamas supporting Palestinian “refugees”

Canada has no obligation to assist these monsters.

Canada’s role in responding to Palestinian refugee crisis a potential ‘minefield’, says former ambassador

With Israel’s war on Hamas focusing international attention on the plight of Palestinians, some in Canada are pressing Ottawa to help. But experts say this country has long struggled to find the right approach to assisting Palestinian refugees.

The issue came to the fore earlier this month, after a leaked Israeli intelligence memo identified Canada as a potential mass resettlement destination for Palestinians. The prospect of a large-scale relocation at Israel’s direction drew condemnation from Palestinian groups, and Ottawa was quick to dismiss the proposal.

Why No Arab Government Wants Gaza, the West Bank, or Palestinians

With Israel well on its way to controlling all of Gaza, talk is turning to who will control it after the fighting stops. While Israel may retain control for the foreseeable future, Israel wants no part of Gaza. Its government left Gaza in 2005, taking with it every Jew residing in Gaza and even every Jew buried there. And Israel isn’t alone.

Egypt also wants no part of Gaza, which it ruled until Israel took it in the 1967 Six-Day War. For Egypt, ruling Gaza once was enough. Despite pressure from the United States to take Gaza back, even temporarily after Israel rids it of Hamas terrorists, Egypt has refused. Egypt has also refused to provide refuge to Palestinians fleeing the war in Gaza.

And Israel had better drop that damn idea.

Behold the Palestinians the Trudeau government would like to bring to Canada.

The United States and Germany are in talks over an effort to persuade Ukraine to negotiate a peace deal with Russia broadly along the lines of the present battle front, according to a report.

The two largest states in Nato and Kyiv’s biggest military backers are said to be deliberately limiting arms deliveries to make it clear to President Zelensky that the conflict is now “frozen”.

TDSB says ‘distinct strategy’ of next pogrom should end anti-semitism in schools

TDSB says it’s working on a ‘distinct strategy’ to combat antisemitism in schools

The board’s response, sent Friday afternoon, goes on to say that a “distinct strategy on addressing antisemitism has been initiated and work has also begun addressing other forms of hate experienced within our classrooms,” including anti-Black racism and Islamophobia.

Homeschool your kids. The TDSB is a shithole of woke racists. It has been for years.

Cory Morgan: Media Dependency on the State Is a Threat to Democracy

Back at the end of the 1980s, I had the opportunity to tour the Soviet Union. Upon disembarking from our Aeroflot plane in Moscow, we were ushered into customs much like we would be in any other country. Where things differed was with what the customs agents were searching for. It wasn’t drugs or firearms they were concerned with as much as magazines, books, and newspapers. The Soviets didn’t want to allow unfettered information to reach citizens and it was seized if found.
