Don Martin: Life in Trudeau’s brain defies imagination

Getting inside Justin Trudeau’s head these days requires a vivid imagination.

The prime minister’s bizarre statement on the Middle East war this week reflects a distorted view that human-shielded resistance by Hamas terrorists can be overcome with “maximum restraint” by Israel’s military.

How a conflict where civilians, foreigners and sick patients are being held hostage by terrorists in and below Gaza hospitals can be resolved by passive soldiers using bullhorns instead of bullets is a tactic that would never have made it into Sun Tzu’s Art of War.

Arab and Muslim leaders blame West for Gaza misery

Gaza – one can only imagine the hardship.

Hypocrisy, double standards and a failure to understand the region. These are the charges being levelled at the West, primarily the US, by leaders of 57 Arab and Muslim countries who convened at the weekend in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

How is it, foreign ministers said to me, that the West slams Russia for killing civilians in Ukraine, yet, in their words, it “gives a green light to Israel to do the same in Gaza”?

In the luxurious surroundings of Riyadh’s Ritz-Carlton hotel, amid giant floral bouquets and glittering chandeliers, and a world away from the shattered landscape of Gaza, princes, presidents and prime ministers met for the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit.

So how come they won’t accept Palestinian refugees?

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau’s Israel tirade hands Canada’s anti-Semites a propaganda victory

Justin is so full of shit he’s about to explode.

I don’t know what Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was thinking when he significantly changed his position on the Israel-Hamas war Tuesday evening during an event in B.C. unrelated to the conflict, but his choice of words and the way he structured them will fuel anti-Semitism in Canada.

Supreme Court to decide whether to hear case of Canadian men detained in Syria

OTTAWA – The country’s top court is slated to decide today whether it will hear the case of four Canadian men held in Syria who argue Ottawa has a legal duty to help them return home.

The detained Canadians are among the many foreign nationals in ramshackle detention centres run by Kurdish forces that wrested the war-ravaged region from militant group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

The men are asking the Supreme Court to hear a challenge of a Federal Court of Appeal ruling, handed down in May, that said Ottawa is not obligated under the law to repatriate them.

Iran tells Hamas it will not enter the war with Israel

Iran’s supreme leader told the head of Hamas in a face-to-face meeting in Tehran that his country would not enter the war with Israel and accused the terror group of not giving any prior warning of the Oct 7 attacks.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told Ismail Haniyeh that Iran – a longtime backer of Hamas – would continue to lend the group its political and moral support, but would not intervene directly, according to three Iranian and Hamas officials with knowledge of the discussions who asked to remain anonymous.

Hamas is losing badly, but what the Ayatollah says and what he does are different things.

Germany: Industry Moving Abroad Amid Rising Energy Prices

Europe’s largest economy, which is already in choppy waters, appears to be headed for worse times as it rapidly loses its attractiveness as an industrial location. Germany’s sky-high energy prices, precipitated by a lack of cheap natural gas and improvident anti-nuclear and ‘green’ energy policies enacted by the left-liberal government, have had a devastating impact on the country’s industry, according to a new study.

The study, carried out by the consulting firm Deloitte with the support of the Federal Association of German Industry revealed on Tuesday, November 14th, that two-thirds of German companies surveyed had already relocated parts of their value-added chain abroad, the Berlin-based daily Die Welt reported.

NDP rejects first draft of Liberal pharmacare legislation as deadline looms

OTTAWA – NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said his party sent the Liberals back to the drawing board in drafting their upcoming pharmacare legislation, as the end-of-year deadline set in the supply-and-confidence agreement between both parties is rapidly approaching.

“We’ve seen a first draft and we made it very clear that the first draft was insufficient for our support. So the government has taken that back and is working on some amendments,” said Singh during a press conference in Toronto in describing the ongoing negotiations between both parties.

Muslim anti-LGBT groups descend on Coldplay’s first concert in Indonesia

Hundreds of conservative Muslims protested outside Coldplay’s first ever concert in Indonesia on Wednesday, clashing with police and booing concertgoers over the band’s support for the LGBT community.

Several Islamic groups had called for the British band’s only concert in Muslim-majority Indonesia this year to be cancelled over the rock group’s views, which they say clash with their conservative beliefs.

Justin Trudeau is turning a blind eye to extremism

Religiously-motivated brawls have highlighted Canada’s immigration failures

On Sunday, Diwali celebrations in Mississauaga — a Toronto suburb with a significant South Asian population — saw a brawl break out between Indian Hindus and Sikhs wielding pro-Khalistan flags. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, and is adding fuel to growing tensions between India and Canada. The relationship between the two countries had taken a downward turn after Justin Trudeau accused the Modi government of assassinating prominent Sikh activist Hardeep Nijjar Singh back in September.

‘All men 16 years and above, raise your hands’: how al-Shifa raid unfolded

Three hours before dawn, witnesses and doctors inside Gaza’s largest hospital reported that Israeli tanks had entered the sprawling medical compound on the western edge of Gaza City. “We can see them pointing the guns of the tanks toward the hospital … they are inside the complex with the tanks,” Khader Al Za’anoun, a reporter for the Palestinian news agency Wafa, told CNN.

Munir al-Boursh, a doctor inside the Dar al-Shifa hospital and a Palestinian health ministry undersecretary, had earlier appealed to approaching Israeli forces to exercise caution. “You being inside the hospital will create a state of fear and hysteria among the patients here,” he told the Israel Defense Forces in a phone call obtained by Al Jazeera. “All floors of the hospital are full of people from floor one through to six.”

The interview that exposed the ridiculousness of trans ideology

On hearing that a trans-woman, the activist Steph Richards, was to be appointed CEO of an endometriosis charity, many feminists rolled our eyes, wondering if parody was dead.

There has been huge pushback against appointing a biological male as head of an organisation concerned with women’s gynaecological health, for obvious reasons. Many newspapers covered the issue, and I figured this would be one of those moments that might convince sceptics or even the ‘trans-women are women’ crew that this has all gone way too far.
