Justin Trudeau can’t run away from embarrassing himself

Justin Trudeau isn’t the prime minister of Canada anymore. He’s not a Liberal MP. He stayed out of the fray during last month’s federal election. He’s been under the radar for months, and is reportedly renting a home in Ottawa. Other than a brief excursion to a Canadian tire store, which led him to take a predictable selfie, he’s largely disappeared from public life.

Everything came to a crashing halt this week. Trudeau proved once again that he can’t run away from embarrassing himself. Literally, in fact.

Your Afternoon Musical Interlude – Justin Trudeau Edition!

A very special musical interlude for a very special almost-quitter.

This song was meant for Justin (not safe for the office or some such thing):

Canadian content but just as apt:

Does anyone remember the 16 tons of personal protective equipment Justin handed to his Chinese bosses?

I do:

Less than one-third of Canadians confident Trudeau is capable of handling a Trump presidency

When it comes to public confidence in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s ability to deal with U.S. president-elect Donald Trump, most Canadians don’t think Trudeau is equipped to deal with the recent tariff announcement.

Trump announced he would impose a 25% tariff on all Canadian imports once he takes office in January as punishment for the government’s lax approach to border security which has allowed criminals and drugs to flow south with little enforcement.

Justin Trudeau needs to stop his Donald Trump trash talk, former ambassador warns

OTTAWA — A former Canadian ambassador to Washington says Justin Trudeau should ditch the anti-Trump “MAGA Conservative” rhetoric directed at the Liberals’ Canadian political rivals.

David MacNaughton, who co-chaired the Ontario campaign for Trudeau’s 2015 election victory, says it’s neither a wise domestic political strategy nor is it smart for Canada-U.S. relations.

In an interview Friday, MacNaughton said the prime minister is taking a risk by being seen to take swipes at Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, in a U.S. presidential election year.

Tampons now offered in Canadian Parliament men’s bathrooms under Trudeau’s new policy

Tampons and sanitary napkins are now available in men’s bathrooms at the Canadian Parliament under a new policy from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that requires all federally regulated employers — including airports and military bases — to offer free menstrual products in all washrooms, regardless of gender noted on the door.

News of the policy change spread last week after former Canadian Conservative Sen. Linda Frum posted a photo of a basket offering free pads and tampons inside a men’s bathroom for transgender members of Parliament — setting off a firestorm online.

Trudeau says more stupid stuff about Israel in order to please Hamas supporters

Trudeau says Israel hurting peace prospects in Gaza, decries Canadians ‘lashing out’

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Israel’s military actions in the Gaza Strip, meant to clear Hamas militants from the Palestinian territory, are making it harder to achieve long-term stability in the region.

Speaking to reporters at the APEC summit in San Francisco, Trudeau said the path to a viable two-state solution “is getting more difficult with all the hardship that Palestinians are going through.”

The prime minister said he is also disturbed by “Canadians lashing out in anger” against each other during the latest Israel-Hamas war, mentioning Jewish schools targeted by overnight gunfire and acts of Islamophobia.

This sort of crazy talk may mean he really is going to resign.

Don Martin: Life in Trudeau’s brain defies imagination

Getting inside Justin Trudeau’s head these days requires a vivid imagination.

The prime minister’s bizarre statement on the Middle East war this week reflects a distorted view that human-shielded resistance by Hamas terrorists can be overcome with “maximum restraint” by Israel’s military.

How a conflict where civilians, foreigners and sick patients are being held hostage by terrorists in and below Gaza hospitals can be resolved by passive soldiers using bullhorns instead of bullets is a tactic that would never have made it into Sun Tzu’s Art of War.

Tin Pot Tyrant Trudeau has nerve to hector Poland about democratic backsliding

Trudeau raises Poland’s democratic backsliding as prime minister visits Toronto

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he raised concerns about reports that LGBTQ rights and democracy are under threat in Poland during a Friday visit with its prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, in Toronto.

The visit comes amid unprecedented economic and military collaboration between the two countries.

“I certainly raised concerns that we have around some of the reports coming out of Poland around LGBTQ rights, around democracy, and we had a frank conversation, as must be the case,” Trudeau told reporters Friday.
