Liberal stalwart calls for new party leader, predicts Trudeau will decide soon whether to quit

A Liberal stalwart and a former prime minister’s chief of staff is calling on the party to find a new leader to replace Justin Trudeau.

In a blunt and at times stinging opinon piece for National Newswatch published Wednesday, Sen. Percy Downe wrote that the party should replace Trudeau as Liberal leader before the next election.

“The prudent course of action is for another Liberal Leader to rise from the impressive Liberal caucus and safeguard those policies (Trudeau) was actually able to accomplish,” wrote Downe, who was prime minister Jean Chrétien’s chief of staff and served in many other senior positions.

Too many issues, affordability, housing shortage, bad immigration policy, carbon tax scam, corruption, lack of ethics, etc etc etc…

How Posters of Kidnapped Israelis Ignited a Firestorm on American Sidewalks

In the weeks since Hamas attacked Israel, fliers depicting the hostages have become ubiquitous. But in cities and on college campuses across the globe, anti-Israel protesters have removed them.

“KIDNAPPED,” the posters say, in big block letters above pictures of people taken hostage by Hamas terrorists during the Oct. 7 attack in Israel, urgent reminders of the men, women and children still being held hostage in Gaza.

But on college campuses and in cities around the world in recent weeks, people have been caught tearing them down.

“You should be ashamed of yourselves,” a man says in a video posted on social media as he watches two young people at the University of Southern California shove wadded-up posters into the trash.

Just Stop Oil protesters arrested after ‘going floppy’ in London

Dozens of Just Stop Oil activists have been arrested while blocking another major road in London with activists deliberately going “floppy” when police tried to remove them.

The A4 West Cromwell Road in Kensington was brought to a standstill at about 9am on Wednesday, when about 45 protesters demonstrated on the thoroughfare — the group’s second slow march in the capital this week.

Nazis in Canada? A Secret List With Answers May Soon Be Released.

For 37 years, Canada has kept close guard on an explosive roster of names.

The classified report lists 883 possible Nazi war criminals who found harbor in the country after World War II, and many believe it offers insights into exactly what the government knew about how they got there, the extent to which they were investigated and why most escaped prosecution.

Canada’s strong privacy laws and government secrecy have kept the report confidential, but a recent political blunder may crack it open.

France and the European Union Are No Friends of Israel

Yet another parasitical EU bureaucracy

Last week, with 120 votes in favor, 15 against and 45 abstentions, the United Nations General Assembly passed a shameful resolution calling for a ceasefire and humanitarian corridors in Gaza — without condemning the crimes of Hamas. While four European countries voted against and fifteen abstained (including Germany), France approved a UN General Assembly resolution that makes not even mention of Hamas’s crimes. At the recent European Summit in Brussels, the heads of state and government did not make the call for “humanitarian pauses” conditional on the release of the Israeli and foreign hostages held in Gaza by Hamas.

Sam Bankman-Fried admits taking his eye off the ball at doomed crypto firm, as $10BN FTX fraud trial nears its conclusion

On the final day of his testimony in court, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried has admitted he ‘deeply regrets not taking a deeper look’ into the borrowing of $8 billion in customer deposits by his sister firm Alameda Research.

The alleged crypto fraudster periodically smirked and frowned in response to questions about the collapse of his bitcoin empire in November 2022 by prosecutor Danielle Sassoon, and gave a slew of evasive answers.

He is accused of committing one of the biggest financial frauds in American history – by using FTX customer deposits to prop up risky investments in fledgling hedge fund Alameda, which he ran with his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison.

I have no doubt the jury will convict as it sounds he behaved like a jerk throughout.

But how long will he get? Will he be pardoned?

Jamie Sarkonak: Carbon tax punishes provinces that don’t vote for Trudeau

How can you minimize your exposure to the burdensome carbon tax? Stop driving the car you need to get to work, eat less and — as of last week — move to a region that’s key to the Liberals’ electoral success.

Last Thursday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a three-year pause on the carbon tax for home heating oil. Technically, the pause applies to all Canadians, but in practice, it’s really just Atlantic Canada that stands to benefit, since it’s the only region where this particular fuel is used to a significant degree.

Hamas Official: We Will Repeat the October 7 Atrocities Again and Again

“Israel is a country that has no place in our land,” Hamas official Ghazi Hamad told the Middle East’s LBC International news network on Tuesday. “We must remove that country.”

“It constitutes a security, military, and political catastrophe to the Arab and Islamic nation and must be finished.” Hamad added, completely unnecessarily after the attacks on Israeli civilians we all witnessed on the weekend of October 7, “We are not ashamed to say this, with full force.”

‘Outright incompetence’: Whistleblowers secretly recorded civil servant slamming Trudeau green fund

Doug McConnachie laid out his unvarnished thoughts on Aug. 25, unaware his words were being caught on tape.

Commenting on a fact-finding report he’d just received, the assistant deputy minister at Innovation came down hard on the senior leadership of Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a foundation in the middle of a five-year, billion-dollar funding deal with Ottawa.

“There’s a lot of sloppiness and laziness. There is some outright incompetence and, you know, the situation is just kind of untenable at this point,” he said.

Comer: Biden Got $40K in China Money Again Disguised as Loan Repayment

Joe Biden received $40,000 in laundered CEFC China Energy Co. money in 2017 from the account of his brother, James Biden, and sister-in-law, Sara Biden, once again in the form of a personal check labeled as a “loan repayment,” House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) uncovered Wednesday in a newly released bank records memorandum.

Canadian Death Cult

America’s northern neighbor has euthanized tens of thousands of its citizens.

Do we live in a post-Christian world? Yes and no. The Western vision of equality, human rights, accountable government, and even contemporary democracy are derived from Christian assumptions. But the faith that once supported those assumptions has waned. What remains are mere professions of values without attempts at justification. Think of Jefferson’s “self-evident” truths in the Declaration of Independence, or the United Nations’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its mere “recognition” of the “inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family,” and so on. Our leaders no longer defend those values with appeals to any religious or metaphysical sentiment—or even to reason. They simply assert, but assertion is not proof.
