Reaction to Hamas attack on campus shows universities are in desperate need of fixing

Carelton University

When students and professors applaud murderers and rapists as academic administrators meekly look on, as has been the case in Canada ever since Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attacks on Israel, it’s clear that something is wrong in the academy.

Universities need to get serious again — a characteristic that was abandoned by adopting the ideologies of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), identitarianism, decolonization and anti-racism. Instead of pursuing free inquiry and judging people for what they do, not what they look like, post-secondary institutions now pursue any system of thought that attempts to redistribute benefits and privileges from “oppressors” to the “oppressed.”

Ukraine’s sabotage tricks are causing concern in Washington

There has never been any doubt that Ukraine was the focus of an intelligence war as much as a physical one. But the extent of Western assistance, as well as growing concern at some Ukrainian tactics, is only now becoming clear.

On Monday, the Washington Post ran a lengthy examination of the level of CIA assistance for the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) and military intelligence (HUR) that bore all the hallmarks of being facilitated by the US government. It acknowledged that since the annexation of Crimea in 2014, the Americans has invested ‘tens of millions’ of dollars in training and technical assistance for their Ukrainian counterparts, even building new headquarters for HUR’s special forces, for fear that the old ones were compromised.

No Longer Metaphorical

Events since October 7 have made clear that the goal of Western advocates for the Palestinians is not a nonviolent adjustment of borders but a Palestine without Jews.

For the last two decades, solidarity with Palestinians in the West has been expressed largely through the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement. BDS has described itself as a call from “Palestinian civil society” for allies in other countries to reduce commerce with Israel, along the lines of the international boycott to end apartheid in South Africa in the 1980s.

Notre Dame President Defends Drag Shows on ‘Catholic’ Campus

The hypocrisy evinced by Notre Dame leadership is appalling.

The president of a self-described Catholic university is endorsing controversial drag shows on campus, despite students’ protests. Ahead of a drag show “symposium” scheduled for November 3rd at the University of Notre Dame, the school’s president Fr. John Jenkins is defending the perverse performances as a matter of “academic freedom” and “freedom of expression.” Students seeking to preserve the institution’s historical Catholic identity have been emailing Jenkins with concerns that the drag shows — which are part of a one-credit course presented by the Film, Television, and Theater Department on the history of drag — are in conflict with the Catholic Church’s teachings on gender and sexual morality.

Groups behind Israel-bashing protests backing Hamas attacks got $15M-plus from Soros

Far-left billionaire kingmaker George Soros has funneled more than $15 million since 2016 to groups behind this month’s pro-Palestine protests, where demonstrators openly cheered Hamas militants’ craven terrorist attacks on Israel.

A Post examination of Open Society Foundations records shows Soros’ grant-making network gave $13.7 million of the money through Tides Center, a deep-pocketed lefty advocacy group that sponsors several nonprofits who’ve justified Hamas’ bloody attacks while claiming Palestinians obsessed with the eradication of the Jewish state are the real victims

Hamas and the Ruse That May Be Its Last

It is, perhaps, too early to have a full picture of what led to the recent Hamas attack on Israeli villages close to Gaza.

One thing, however, is certain: the attack came when and where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Cabinet least expected.

But why? One answer adopted by Netanyahu’s team is “a failure of intelligence services”.

However, that answer, even if it contains a grain of truth, could not divert attention from a bigger failure: the Israeli leaders’ inability to correctly analyze the intelligence at their disposal and, and having bought into what looks like a ruse by Hamas, to imagine a worst-case scenario.

France Blames Russian Fake News for Bed Bug Scare

France is blaming the country’s bed bug scare on disinformation propagated by Russia.

Paris has been thrown into something of panic over fears that the city is in the midst of a bed bug plague, with insect infestations widespread and not slowing down.

The bugs even became a topic of debate in the country’s parliament, and the story had international repercussions when Algeria said it would take measures to ensure the pests weren’t spread to its territory.

But now French intelligence has said the real problem is Russian fake news propaganda.

Jewish students at Western University react after posters of hostages pulled down

Gotta love the CBC for blurring out the perp faces.

Jewish students at Western University are speaking out after posters of Israelis being held hostage by Hamas were pulled down from campus buildings in an incident captured on video.

The video posted this week on X — the social media platform formerly known as Twitter — shows two young men pulling posters off the wall at Western’s University Community Centre building, then ripping up the posters and throwing them in the garbage.

The Liberals’ immigration blueprint is unsound, and will hinder the economy it seeks to help

For years, the Trudeau government has rapidly brought in newcomers it cannot house, hoping for economic gains it has not delivered. It’s time to change course

On the afternoon of June 16, Canada’s population surpassed the 40-million mark.

In a country long lamented by some of its leading thinkers as a low-density also-ran stunted by a lack of bodies to fill its vast expanses and dynamize its sleepy cities, it was to be expected that hitting this milestone would be considered a big deal by some.

The official population estimate came from Statistics Canada, which called reaching the 40-million mark “a cause for celebration.” Our national number cruncher even said Canada was “40 million strong,” seemingly equating population size with strength, an idea that is largely passé in the technology-driven 21st century.

Hamas support rally at US consulate in Torontostan

I hate to disappoint them but Israel could not care less about their demo.

Even if they change Junior’s mind and he starts advocating for a ceasefire Israel will just swat him away.
