Conservative voters less likely to say they’re proud to be Canadian, survey suggests

Canadians’ pride in their nationality, like most things these days, seems to be divided down partisan lines, a new poll suggests.

While a strong majority of the 1,512 respondents to the survey by Leger said they were proud to be Canadian — 81 per cent — the poll suggests the feeling is less common among Conservative supporters than their Liberal counterparts.

Experts say that while the results of the survey may be surprising given Conservatives’ reputation as a patriotic party, it reflects their discontent with the direction in which Canada is headed.

The new head of the RAF has apologised unreservedly for a diversity drive that illegally discriminated against white men, in his first comments since taking the job.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton admitted the force’s recruitment and selection process wrongly “accelerated” 161 enlisted aviators, who were either women or from ethnic minority backgrounds, onto initial training ahead of other candidates between 2020 and 2021.

Canadian Soldier’s Refusal of COVID Vaccination Not a ‘Conduct Deficiency,’ Grievance Committee Rules

An independent military administrative tribunal has determined that a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) veteran had not shown a “conduct deficiency” in refusing COVID-19 vaccination and was therefore wrongfully expelled from the organization.

“I find that refusing vaccination should not have been considered a conduct deficiency since it was an exercise of a right protected by the Charter and recognized by existing laws and regulations,” wrote Nina Frid of the Military Grievances External Review Committee (MGERC) in a June 20 decision.

Europe, the La La Land continent of immigration

Sweden is a monument to European naivete that believes open immigration of Muslims can lead to integration with post-Christians.

“Free Derry” is a famous area that declared itself “autonomous” in Northern Ireland’s second city between 1969 and 1972. The term originates from the writing painted on the wall of a building:

“You are now entering Free Derry”. The name derives from its status as a “closed” area (no-go area) to British forces (British and Protestants called it Londonderry).
Who would have thought, fifty years later, that there would be other “no-go areas” in Europe?

Dutch farmers’ party calls for refugee cap as it soars in the polls

The Dutch farmers’ party has called for a cap on asylum seekers in the Netherlands as polls predicted it would challenge the prime minister’s party to become the country’s strongest political force in a general election.

The Farmers-Citizen Movement (BBB) came from nowhere to become the largest party in all 12 Dutch provinces in regional elections in March after a campaign dominated by large-scale tractor protests against compulsory farm buy-outs to hit EU climate change targets.

German Catholic church ‘dying painful death’ as 520,000 leave in a year

The Catholic church in Germany has revealed it is losing followers like never before, with more than half a million people deciding to renounce their membership last year.

According to the Bonn-based German Bishops’ Conference, 522,821 people left the church in 2022, a number far surpassing predictions made by the institution itself and higher than most observers had expected. The previous record year for departures was in 2021, when just under 360,000 people left.

Netherlands euthanizing autistic and intellectually handicapped people, researcher finds

Netherlands programs have euthanized otherwise healthy individuals with autism and intellectual handicaps in recent years, researchers have found.

Five individuals under the age of 30, who cited autism as a factor in their decision to seek legal euthanasia, are among the cases reviewed by specialists at the U.K.’s Kingston University.

I’m sure Canada’s Suicide Saviors will top that shortly.

Chaos erupts as daycare worker accused of sending nude photos of children to trans New Hampshire Democrat appears in court

Chaos erupted at a Massachusetts courtroom during the first court appearance of a daycare worker accused of sending photos of naked children to a trans former politician.

Lindsay Groves, 38, appeared in court on Wednesday to face accusations that she took nude images of children aged three to five at the Creative Minds Early Learning Center in Tyngsboro, about 35 miles northwest of Boston.

Prosecutors say the New Hampshire resident took the photos in a private bathroom during breaks before nap time and texted them to someone ‘with whom she was previously in an intimate relationship’ and shared 2,500 texts with.
