Germany: We Need Nuclear Power From France

European countries are still feeling the pinch of being cut off from Russian gas as the German Federal Network Agency, the Bundesnetzagentur, has revealed that the country will be dependent on purchasing electricity this winter from neighbouring France, relying on French nuclear power.

The current German leftist coalition of the left-wing Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens, and the pro-free market Free Democrats (FDP) have confirmed the findings of the “needs analysis” conducted by the agency, which regulates electricity, gas, and other utilities, according to a report from the German tabloid Bild.

Bell cutting 1,300 positions, shuttering six radio stations

TORONTO – BCE Inc. is cutting 1,300 positions, around three per cent of its workforce, and closing or selling nine radio stations as the company plans to “significantly adapt” how it delivers the news.

The company says the job cuts are in response to unfavourable public policy and regulatory conditions that it can no longer outwait.

The plan entails “moving to a single newsroom approach across brands, allowing for greater collaboration and efficiency,” said Richard Gray, vice-president of news at Bell Media, in an internal memo distributed to staff Wednesday morning and provided to The Canadian Press.

John Ivison: Canada is missing crucial NATO exercise because our Air Force is up on bricks

In a shocking and embarrassing development, DND said the RCAF was unable to participate because ‘many of our aircraft and personnel are currently committed to modernization activities’

NATO is currently engaged in its largest-ever air exercise in Germany, an operation aimed at sending a message to the Russians that the alliance is determined to defend every inch of its members’ territory.

Willful neglect. Canadians voted for this.

What is the Wagner Group up to?

Russia’s war in Ukraine has been complicated by a third party – the so-called Wagner Group, owned and led by a certain Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Ostensibly fighting on the Russian side, the mercenary group has entered and left the battlefield at key points. Meanwhile, Prigozhin has offered a running commentary on the war that has often been more scathing about Russia’s war effort, its military commanders and its social elite, than it has been about Ukraine. The result is widespread bafflement about Prigozhin and his motives. The behaviour of Prigozhin and Wagner have raised an even more fundamental question – are they working for Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, or are they working against him?

UK, Sweden, and Switzerland Retract Support for Gender Fluidity

For several months now, the UK has been realising the seriousness of the facts concerning the administration of puberty blockers to minors, particularly in the wake of the scandal that rocked the Tavistock clinic specialising in gender transitions. The UK’s National Health Service has just made the decision to severely restrict minors’ access to puberty blockers—which will be limited to “exceptional circumstances.”

In July 2022, the NHS demanded the closure of the Tavistock clinic on the grounds that the treatments provided there were inappropriate and sometimes even dangerous for children. Now, as of this past Friday, June 9th, the NHS has broadened the lessons from Tavistock to apply to all clinics treating gender identity disorders.

The ‘Right’ to Rape and Enslave Non-Muslim Women

Last month, in France, a Muslim man told an underage girl with whom he had been chatting on Facebook, “I will burn you all. I will cut your throats. I will rape you and your mother because I have the right to do so.”

When she refused to marry him, he defaulted to even more severe threats against her and her family — at one point texting, “Soon we will cut your throats and play football with your heads.” The communication was accompanied by a video showing the scene of a beheading.

Based on the name given in the French report, Fabio Califano, who was subsequently arrested, appears to have been a convert to Islam.

As We Dither Over a Public Inquiry, Beijing Continues Its Subterfuge in Canada

Canada is not that big a deal on the world stage.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a proud, loyal Canadian and love my country. It is just that we don’t really matter that much on the global scene. Our economy is the 10th largest in the world, which isn’t bad but could be better. When it comes to population we rank 39th. Defence? We come in at 20th out of NATO’s 31 members. Meh.

Swedish Court Rejects Police Call For Ban On Quran Burning

STOCKHOLM — A Swedish appeals court on Monday said police had no legal grounds to block two gatherings where protesters had planned to burn the Quran earlier this year.

A burning of Islam’s holy book outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm in January sparked anger in the Muslim world, leading to weeks of protests and calls for a boycott of Swedish goods, and further stalled Sweden’s NATO membership bid.
