French leaders warn of toxic rows over immigration after arson attack

French politicians have warned about the risk posed by the country’s increasingly violent and toxic rows over immigration after the mayor of a seaside town resigned following death threats and an arson attack on his home, and far-right groups protested over an asylum-seeker centre in his town.

Yannick Morez announced he was stepping down as mayor of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, in western France, and would have to stop his work as a local doctor, weeks after his home was targeted in an arson attack that burned two cars and the front of his family house. The arson attack is under investigation, but Morez complained of a “lack of support from the state”.

Keep an eye on Fdesouche for what’s really going on in France.

Your government has declared war against you. They will  smear you as a racist for standing up for yourself and your family and daring to question mass immigration.

‘CNN should be ashamed of themselves’: AOC and Joy Behar lead backlash to Trump’s town hall claiming ‘audience is stacked with his cult’

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Joy Behar have led condemnation of CNN’s decision to host a town hall with Donald Trump, which saw the former president bask in the spotlight and repeat a series of lies, joking about being found liable for sexual assault and mocking the moderator as ‘nasty’.

The 70-minute session, held in New Hampshire in front of a strongly pro-Trump crowd, seemed at times more like a Trump rally than an interrogation, as the former president held court and moderator Kaitlan Collins tried to keep control.

How Much More Can a Security Service Do for Canada?

The Old Testament is full of stories of prophets who tried to warn their populations of impending disasters. Jeremiah is a good example. All these accounts tend to follow a pattern: prophet sees something about to happen, tells local leadership about it, is criticized and jailed/punished for doing so, and sees his warnings shunted aside. In the end the bad event transpires anyway. Had the early admonitions been heeded, things would have turned out quite differently.

It’s not un-Christian to control migration

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, spoke in the House of Lords this afternoon during the second reading of the Government’s Illegal Migration Bill, a policy he referred to as “morally unacceptable”. He said that Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman’s plan “risks great damage to the UK’s interests and reputation at home and abroad”, citing Matthew 25, in which Jesus encourages us to welcome the stranger. Last year, the Archbishop said in an Easter Sunday sermon that the policy was “against the judgement of God”.

Canada’s Recent Immigrants Earn Much Less Than Non-Immigrants And Can’t Afford To Rent Or Buy A Home

Canadian real estate prices are climbing on the country’s booming population. More demand means higher home prices, right? Not so fast, it may not be as straightforward as the narrative. Statistics Canada (Stat Can) data released today shows immigrant income levels from a survey conducted in 2021. Recent immigrants to Canada earn significantly less than their peers, and would struggle to pay for basic shelter at today’s prices—nevermind drive prices higher.

Blackhawk helicopters scattering the hordes. Cash for bribes. And the unimaginable numbers gathering as the clock ticks down

To get this far, they have survived weeks on the road, and the attentions of robbers, coyotes and cops.

Now they just have to navigate Alexander and his checklist.

If he doesn’t have their name, they’re not getting in, he tells the Venezuelans, Colombians, Hondurans and so many others lining up to cross the muddy Rio Grande river.

Poilievre accuses government of contributing to addiction crisis

The leader of the Conservative party calls the federal government’s program to provide drugs addicts with a “safer supply” a complete disaster that needs to be scrapped.

During question period on Wednesday, Pierre Poilievre raised a National Post investigation into the program that found that much of the drugs handed out were being re-sold on the street — usually to fund illicit purchases of the powerful synthetic opioid fentanyl.

The Ridiculous California Reparations Proposal

This week, something called the California Reparations Task Force formally adopted a proposal that would compel the Golden State to fork over reparations to its qualifying black residents, a recommendation the organization’s name suggests was inevitable.

“Reparations are not only morally justifiable,” said Democratic California congresswoman Barbara Lee in the wake of the task force’s announcement, “but they have the potential to address long-standing racial disparities and inequalities.” Given the taxpayer-funded sum the task force wants to see allocated to individual beneficiaries — potentially up to $1.2 million per eligible resident — it’s reasonable to expect that this policy would create as many inequities as it might resolve.

The insanity of Net Zero, and how to tackle it

IT’S amazing that a country as small as the Netherlands is the world’s second-largest exporter of food, but it won’t be for much longer. The government of left-wing extremist prime minister Mark Rutte is forcing farmers dramatically to reduce their use of fertilisers, which will result in many going out of business, and is also planning compulsory purchase of farms to shut them down. This action is to implement an order from the European Commission, the reason being that fertilisers release nitrous oxide NO2 into the atmosphere and it has been designated (not proved) to be a greenhouse gas. However, the volume of NO2 in the atmosphere is 335 parts per billion (no, that’s not a typo, it’s a b). This amount is so infinitesimally small as to be virtually non-existent, yet Rutte is determined to devastate his country’s food production to reduce it. How many of those 335ppb will be eliminated by this unilateral action? The recent successes in provincial elections of the Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB) political party, formed only four years ago, are a positive reminder that ordinary citizens will not accept such draconian measures. Nevertheless Rutte has doubled down on the plan and on May 2 was backed by the European Commission.

The House GOP Oversight Committee explains the Biden family grift

The House Oversight Committee has been investigating whether Joe Biden used his position to make money while selling influence during his Vice Presidency. So far, it’s found evidence showing that Joe, like a good mafia boss, kept his own nose clean and maintained plausible deniability by funneling money to his family rather than to his personal bank accounts. But it was a lot of money (more than $10 million) and a lot of influence—and not just to China but to Ukraine, too.
