Black Lives Matter Activists Executed A Shocking $83 Billion Shakedown Of American Corporations

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots of 2020 were the largest and most successful shakedown in American history. These “mostly peaceful protests” — which burned more than 200 American cities and wreaked more than $2 billion in damages — achieved more than anyone could have predicted: changes in laws, private sector policies, and perhaps most importantly, a historic transfer of wealth to racial and leftwing causes. As a result, American corporations gave or pledged more than $83 billion to either BLM or BLM-related causes.

On the Edge of Civilization

Cities that allow the most destructive of human behavior to take over the public space are cities where civilized life as we know it is being marginalized and forced to give way to social fragmentation. Dignity yields to savagery.

Europe has a long tradition of fighting narcotic drugs, with varying results. In 1992, the city of Zürich, Switzerland, closed the infamous ‘Needle Park’ area, just behind the national museum and the central railway station. For a few years in the late 1980s and early 1990s,

hundreds of dealers and addicts packed into the park, [with] many people desperately needing urgent medical care on a daily basis.

As a curious tourist, I visited the place about a year before it was closed. I was shocked at the complete and utter lack of dignity among those who basically spent their entire lives there. Human beings had turned into empty shells, consumed and hollowed out by their addiction to something that was certain to kill them.

The cult of the climate apocalypse

Green campaigners are not ‘following the science’ – they are promoting a Biblical fantasy.

The End Times are back once more. The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, published this week, prompted a typically apocalyptic response in the media and beyond. ‘It’s our last chance to limit global warming before climate-change damage becomes irreversible’, ran one headline. ‘Act now or it’s too late’, was the Guardian’s measured assessment. It might as well have said, ‘Repent sinners, the end is nigh’.

The French social contract is broken, now the young are fighting back

The driving force behind protests against President Macron’s pension plans are young people defending their inheritance: retirement at 62

At the age of 20, Nanuq has yet to enter the workforce but she is already thinking about when she will be able to retire.

The third-year textile design student was among more than a million people who took to the streets across France on Thursday in support of a one-day general strike — the ninth since January. It was the biggest, and also most violent, protest so far against President Macron’s plan to raise the pension age from 62 to 64.

How Communist China Does Your Thinking for You

When China talks about winning without fighting, it essentially means without us fighting back. And that comes down to getting into our heads and disabling us from the inside.

On November 28, 2020, Di Dongsheng, vice dean of the School of International Relations at Renmin University in Beijing, gave a videotaped lecture in which he said:

Why did China and the U.S. used to be able to settle all kinds of issues between 1992 and 2016? It’s just because we have people at the top. We have our old friends who are at the top of America’s core inner circle of power and influence . . . for the past thirty years, forty years, we have been utilizing the core power of the United States.

Derek Burney: Maybe Trudeau should name a special rapporteur for better U.S. relations

The Biden state visit to Ottawa was undoubtedly a welcome respite from more pressing challenges both leaders face on the home front. While the words were felicitous, and even though the two leaders share similar views on climate change, Ukraine and China, along with popular cultural fads of the moment, tangible bilateral dividends were limited.

Canadians view own country favourably but many unsure about Canada’s system of government: survey

A recent study by the Angus Reid Institute found Canadians view their country more positively than Americans do — but only a slight majority of people in Canada believe their system of government is good.

The results of the online survey, released Thursday, show 78 per cent of Canadians view their country as caring, compared to 36 per cent of Americans who said the same about the U.S.

Eighty-nine per cent of Canadians say they live in a safe country, while 43 per cent of Americans say they do.

Here’s why insiders say Pierre Poilievre is succeeding where Andrew Scheer and Erin O’Toole failed

OTTAWA — It was a version of a speech Pierre Poilievre delivered dozens of times to rallies in months of running for leadership of the Conservative party.

But this time, the audience wasn’t drawn from the thousands of political newcomers who had spilled out of bars and basements, and ultimately helped deliver his win six months ago.

Olivia Chow, Mark Saunders lead in poll of potential Toronto mayoral candidates

A poll of prominent potential mayoral candidates finds former NDP MP Olivia Chow and former police chief Mark Saunders with the most support ahead of the official April 3 start of the byelection to replace John Tory.

The Forum Research survey of 1,009 Torontonians saw Chow as the choice of 24 per cent of deciding and leaning voters and Saunders with 22 per cent support — a statistical tie because the gap between them is within the poll’s margin of error.

Olivia has lost every election she has run in since the passing of her husband Jack “Velvet Touch” Layton.

When she last ran for Mayor it was to wide acclaim by all the usual suspects, that is the Star.

She was miles ahead in the polls until common sense prevailed.

You’d think she’d get the message.

Ps. Neither Chowcescu or Saunders are impressive candidates let’s hope Furey picks up steam.

Stolen Valor: The U.S. Volunteers in Ukraine Who Lie, Waste and Bicker

People who would not be allowed anywhere near the battlefield in a U.S.-led war are active on the Ukrainian front, with ready access to American weapons.

They rushed to Ukraine by the thousands, many of them Americans who promised to bring military experience, money or supplies to the battleground of a righteous war. Hometown newspapers hailed their commitment, and donors backed them with millions of dollars.

Now, after a year of combat, many of these homespun groups of volunteers are fighting with themselves and undermining the war effort. Some have wasted money or stolen valor. Others have cloaked themselves in charity while also trying to profit off the war, records show.

America is being consumed by a terrifying new madness

New York has been in a strange fever this past week, awaiting the imminent arrest of former president Trump. Or at least we were told that it was imminent. Trump himself told his followers that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday. But Tuesday came and went and no arrest happened. The media was camped outside the state courthouse downtown, and on a street parallel to Trump Tower row upon row of police cars and security service vehicles loitered, waiting.

The ‘ordinary’ family at No 35: suspected Russian spies await trial in Slovenia

Maria Mayer and Ludwig Gisch settled in Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana, in 2017, with their two young children. People who met the couple tended to like them; the new arrivals from Latin America were friendly but never overbearing, inquisitive but never pushy.

Mayer opened an online art gallery, while Gisch ran an IT startup. They told friends that a nagging fear of street crime at home in Argentina had prompted their move to Europe. Peaceful, mountainous Slovenia offered a refreshing change of pace.

In interviews with about a dozen people who knew one or both of the couple, two words kept cropping up: “ordinary” and “nice”. Neighbours insisted the people living at No 35 were a run-of-the-mill family, and said the children could often be heard playing in the garden, shrieking in Spanish.

No Ukraine offensive without more weapons – Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Ukraine’s counter-offensive against Russia cannot start until Western allies send more military support.

He told a Japanese newspaper he would not send his troops to the frontlines without more tanks, artillery and Himars rocket launchers.

In an interview with Yomiuri Shimbun, he said the situation in eastern Ukraine was “not good”.

“We are waiting for ammunition to arrive from our partners,” he said.

The Growing Power of the China-Iran Alliance Thanks to the Biden Administration

Thanks to the extremely dubious leadership of the Biden Administration, Iran and China have become more empowered and emboldened than ever. The Chinese Communist Party and the ruling Islamist mullahs of Iran have been conveniently violating US sanctions without facing any consequences from the Biden administration.
