Victimhood Forever

California’s preposterous push to offer reparations to blacks—in a state where slavery never existed—will inflame racial tensions.

In December 2022, California’s nine-member Reparations Task Force, formed by Governor Gavin Newsom two years earlier, estimated that, if a reparations program were ever adopted, each black person in the state descended from slaves could receive as much as $223,200 in compensation for past injustice. The projected total cost, to California taxpayers, could reach $569 billion—almost two and a half times the state’s current budget. The task force is due to give its final recommendations in June 2023, including the exact monetary amount of compensation. “We are looking at reparations on a scale that is the largest since Reconstruction,” said one task-force member.

Is German industry migrating to the US?

German companies love America. According to the German-American Chamber of Commerce, around 5,600 of them have invested in the US market. As of September 2022, that’s an investment volume of almost $650 billion (€605 billion). And it’s not only big firms like Siemens, Volkswagen or Linde that are currently looking to strengthen their commitment to the United States — in some instances, even building entire new production facilities.

“There are various reasons for it,” says Dirk Dohse, who heads the Innovation and International Competition Research Center at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW). “One is the increase in geopolitical tensions. Many German companies see the US as a ‘safe harbor.’ Other reasons are the comparatively low energy costs and the very generous subsidies provided under the Inflation Reduction Act.”

Iran’s Mullahs Mission: Wipe Out America

A radical regime, whose mission is to “Export the Revolution” and bring Islamist rule to the rest of the world, will not alter its aims through policies of appeasement.

The appeasement policies of the Obama Administration empowered and emboldened Iran’s ruling mullahs, and the Biden Administration seems determined to pursue the same path. Recall when, upon reaching the JCPOA “nuclear deal” with Iran in 2105, then US President Barack Obama pointed out that he was “confident” that the deal, with its lifting of sanctions on Iran, would “meet the national security needs of the United States and our allies”? It was even outlined in the JCPOA preamble that all parties “anticipate that full implementation of this JCPOA will positively contribute to regional and international peace and security.”

The prison experience Elizabeth Holmes is desperate to avoid

Last week, Angelica Zaragoza sat on a large black bus as it drove two hours south from Dallas to a women’s prison in Gatesville, Texas. Ms Zaragoza, 44, was joined by a dozen young girls, all travelling to see their mothers.

Emotions were high, Ms Zaragoza said, a giddy excitement that lasted for the four-hour visit, arranged each month by the Dallas non-profit where she works. But when the time was up, their sadness set in.

“We had a little girl, it was her first trip and when we went to leave she says: ‘Why can’t my mommy come with me?” Ms Zaragoza said.

Big Tech is at it again! A few days ago, I recorded a video of me reading my PJ Media article about TikToker Jeffrey Marsh (the strange non-binary adult male who tells trans kids to go “no-contact” with their families) and his rabid fans who have doxed and stalked a Muslim comedian for exposing Marsh’s grooming techniques.

People just flocked to them at the airport, at bus stops.”

Alleged foreign interference entangles Liberals and Conservatives in one riding

In his new role as special rapporteur investigating alleged foreign interference, David Johnston will likely take a deep dive into the suburban Toronto riding of Don Valley North.

The riding is emerging as a nexus for alleged meddling by China. It’s represented federally by a Liberal and provincially by the Progressive Conservative party — but what raises eyebrows are their connections to a wealthy supermarket mogul with close ties to the Chinese Consulate in Toronto.

B.C. Premier David Eby requests CSIS briefing on China election interference

B.C. Premier David Eby wants to meet with Canada’s intelligence agency, saying he is disturbed by secret documents describing Beijing’s efforts to interfere in a Vancouver election, as some of the province’s senior political strategists call for urgent measures to address vulnerabilities in the democratic process.

The Canadian Security Intelligence Service has described efforts by China’s consul-general in Vancouver, Tong Xiaoling, to “groom” someone for the city’s council and, in the 2022 mayoral vote, “get all eligible voters to come out and elect a specific Chinese-Canadian candidate.” The documents do not name any candidate.

France pension protests: Crowd clashes with police over government reform by decree

Protesters have clashed with police again in central Paris over the French government’s pension reforms.

Thousands of demonstrators lit fires and some threw firecrackers at police, who used tear gas to disperse them.

It is the second night of unrest since President Emmanuel Macron decided to push through the controversial reforms to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a vote.

No-confidence motions have been filed against his government in response.

Donald Trump has posted on his own social media platform Truth Social that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday in the criminal case in New York involving hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Earlier this year the former US president called for protests by his supporters if he was indicted in any of the numerous criminal investigations in New York, Georgia and by federal authorities into his conduct relating to allegations of illegal campaign payments, election interference, efforts to overturn his loss in the 2020 presidential election and keeping top secret documents at his home after leaving office. On Saturday he posted: “Take our nation back!”

Washington is anxious to see Ottawa update North America’s air defence, Canada’s ambassador to the United States says, ahead of the President’s first trip north of the border since taking office.

In an interview Friday, Kirsten Hillman, who is in Ottawa from her usual posting at Canada’s U.S. embassy to prepare for the talks, said air defence will be a key agenda item in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s meetings next week with President Joe Biden.

Thought we gave it all to Ukraine.
