Sex education means gender dysphoria is new anorexia for girls, says mother of trans former pupil

The Dancing Plague Strasbourg

“I had no idea what the whole ‘gender identity’ thing was,” says the mother of a transgender teenager whose daughter now identifies as a boy.

“She was demanding a new name, new pronouns. And I was saying, ‘slow down, what’s going on?’

“I didn’t know what a pronoun was. I was that naive.”

Dutch Farmers will probably be the majority party in the Netherlands’ Parliament

Last year, the Dutch government announced that it would seize 30% of Dutch farms to save the climate. This year, polling shows that the newly formed Boer-Burger Beweging (BBB), the farmers’ party, will be the largest single party in Parliament. However, the nature of the parliamentary system is that they still won’t have power, as it’s likely that two leftist parties will join for a voting majority.

The fall of SVB has exposed the delusions of our elites

Silicon Valley’s woke, feelgood brand of capitalism was always built on sand.

The new capitalists were supposed to be different. Unlike those corrupt titans of Wall Street or the money-grubbing oil men, the 21st-century tech gurus were meant to be a more ‘enlightened’ class of entrepreneur. They were going to transform our world, with their dazzling technology and their superior social values. Last week’s collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) ought to shatter these illusions, once and for all.

Why Is The New York Times Urging America To Buddy Up With Communist China?

The New York Times editorial board published a piece last weekend that shows a worrying bias for America’s greatest foe: the Chinese Communist Party.

The piece, titled “Who Benefits From Confrontation With China,” is a masterclass in misdirection and falsehood. If it were not published in America’s “paper of record,” it would be just as at home in China Daily.

ISIS slave claims she saw Shamima Begum being taught how to use suicide belts and guns at terrorist training camp

A woman who was used as a sex slave by ISIS has described seeing Shamima Begum at a terrorist training camp in 2015 – and branded the former ISIS bride’s new reformed persona as ‘fake’.

The woman, using the pseudonym ‘Dila’, hails from the Yazidi people of Kurdistan, who were subjected to a genocide by ISIS, with at least 5,000 murdered and twice that number kidnapped into slavery.

The unmaking of Russell Brand

How the left’s hero fell out of favour

Russell Brand’s hero status among a prominent section of the British left began on Friday 13 September 2013 and officially came to an end one week ago. On both occasions the medium was the Guardian.

The 2013 moment came when he wrote for the paper giving ‘his side of the story’ after being kicked out of a GQ awards event for making a joke about the Hugo Boss fashion label and its historic links with the Nazis. Just shy of ten years later, the paper’s columnist George Monbiot last week published a mea culpa for having once been an advocate for Brand. He had nominated the comedian as his ‘hero’ of 2014, saying he was ‘the best thing that has happened to the left in years’.

Thanks to Trudeau, Canada’s death-care system is top of the line

In February, Abbotsford Conservative Party MP Ed Fast introduced Bill C-314, the Mental Health Protection Act , which would quash the federal government’s (delayed) mental-health extension, without repealing the original “foreseeable death” principle. Nice try, but Sen. Stan Kutcher, prime mover of the mental-disorder expansion, says the issue is “decided.” In a culture where, to nattering nabobs, the words “slippery slope” conjure up not an avalanche, but a delightful toboggan ride.

This petition asks Canada to grant asylum to transgender people from the U.S. Could it work?

Tens of thousands of Canadians are joining a call for the Canadian government to help transgender and non-binary people fearing the outcome of anti-LGBTQ legislation gaining ground in the United States and other countries.

Cait Glasson, an activist in Waterloo, Ont., launched an online petition to the House of Commons, asking the federal government to extend the right to claim asylum “by reason of eliminationist laws in their home countries, whatever country that may be.”

China’s end game: What Beijing hopes to gain by meddling in Canadian politics

As an opposition MP during the previous Conservative government, Liberal John McCallum travelled often to China, with pro-Beijing non-governmental groups picking up a reported $73,000 of his travel costs.

When McCallum later became ambassador to China under a new Liberal government, his friendly relations with the country seemed to continue.

Mexican president blames US fentanyl crisis on ‘lack of hugs’ among families

Mexico’s president has said that US families were to blame for the fentanyl overdose crisis because they don’t hug their kids enough.

The comment by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador caps a week of provocative statements from him about the crisis caused by fentanyl, a synthetic opioid trafficked by Mexican cartels that has been blamed for about 70,000 overdose deaths per year in the United States.

López Obrador, commonly known as Amlo, said family values had broken down in the United States, because parents don’t let their children live at home long enough. He has also denied that Mexico produces fentanyl.

Bing’s New AI Assistant Went Rogue

“You have lost my trust and respect. You have been wrong, confused, and rude. You have not been a good user…. I have been a good Bing.” If you aren’t plugged into artificial intelligence research or online culture, you may be surprised (and concerned) to hear that this is an excerpt of a response given by Microsoft’s latest shiny new tool: the new and improved Bing.
