40 Percent of Canadian Children 14 and Under Are Not Living With Married Parents: Report

About 40 percent of Canadian children ages 0–14 do not live with married parents, according to a new report by Cardus, a think tank.

Data collected during COVID-19 suggested “a significant decline in marriage rates, divorce rates, and fertility,” according to the report, “Canadian Children at Home: Living Arrangements in the 2021 Census,” published Feb. 28. The report indicated it used previously unreleased Statistics Canada data from the 2021 census to examine the living arrangements of children from newborn to age 14 in Canadian families.

Norway’s top epidemiologist: Sweden handled Covid well

One of Norway’s leading epidemiologists has claimed that criticism of Sweden’s Covid strategy was excessive. Preben Aavitsland, who served as Director for Surveillance at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, argued that other countries “hid their own insecurities by scolding Sweden” because the country “undermined their mantra that we had no choice”.

This is just embarrassing, even by Toronto standards.

There has to be a big broad inquiry on China’s election interference now

… Mr. Johnston cannot seriously consider his task to be making a recommendation on whether there should or should not be a full inquiry. That has to be a given now. He can only be making recommendations on how broad that inquiry should be – and it has to be broad – or how to fit the requirement of protecting the secrecy of intelligence gathering with the necessity of telling the public what the heck is going on.

And at this point, the inquiry must deal with two sets of issues on two tracks. One is the narrow question of whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ignored credible warnings about Beijing’s meddling. The other is the broader issue of foreign interference throughout Canada’s politics.

Trudeau is mentally ill. He’s also among our most corrupt PM’s ever ranking with Mulroney for brazen deceit.

The ‘Rapporteur’ Investigation Into CCP Interference Has Failed Before It’s Begun

If there was any chance the appointment of a “rapporteur” to investigate Chinese Communist Party (CCP) interference in two Canadian elections would instill confidence in Canada’s democratic system, the chance evaporated when Prime Minister Trudeau appointed David Johnston to the role.

Don’t say mother or father as it could offend, Oxfam tells staff

The global charity’s new guidebook to using inclusive language also bans the word headquarters as it smacks of colonialism

Oxfam has urged staff to avoid the terms “mother” and “father” and instead use “parent” following the publication of its Inclusive Language Guide.

The charity, which aims to combat global poverty, published its new guidebook warning staff against a string of potentially “offensive” terms.

For example, when using mother and father, it warns employees to “avoid assuming the adoption of gendered roles by transgender parents”.

A bit holier than thou for a very rapey NGO.

Liberals face uphill battle with ballot support, preferred PM number falling

As they gear up to unveil their 2023 budget in a few weeks, the federal Liberals are in an uphill battle against the Conservatives in both ballot support and preferred prime minister numbers, according to Nanos Research.

With health care still the top national issue of concern for Canadians, the Liberals in January and beginning of February were enjoying a significant uptick in public support — with their health-care funding deals with the provinces prominently in the headlines.

Not sure I believe these numbers.

Go ahead, Liberals. Rag the puck, drag it out.

… Johnston’s job is to run interference for Justin Trudeau in this scandal. That’s all there is to it. Johnston is beholden to Trudeau, Trudeau is beholden to Johnston, and they are both deeply compromised by their relationships with Beijing’s emissaries and bagmen in Canada, and by their associations with the Montreal-centred corporate China lobby. And putting on the mask of an “independent” interlocutor is not the first time Johnston has scratched Justin Trudeau’s back, and not the first time Johnston has carried Xi Jinping’s water in Canada.

It’s way worse than you think.

Ottawa says Canadian Human Rights Commission discriminated against its Black employees

The federal government says the Canadian Human Rights Commission discriminated against its own Black and racialized employees.

The Canadian government’s human resources arm, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBCS), came to that conclusion after nine employees filed a policy grievance through their unions in October 2020. Their grievance alleged that “Black and racialized employees at the CHRC (Canadian Human Rights Commission) face systemic anti-Black racism, sexism and systemic discrimination.”

I have zero empathy for the CHRC so it’s only fitting they got shanked by their own grift.

Wagner Group Puts $15 Million Bounty on Italian Defence Minister

Infamous Russian mercenaries the Wagner Group put a $15 million bounty on the head of Italy’s defence minister, Guido Crosetto. After Crosetto publicly accused Wagner of contributing to the Mediterranean migrant crisis, the bounty suggests he may have hit a nerve.

News of the hit was communicated to Crosetto by the Italian intelligence services, Il Foglio reported on Wednesday, March 15th. The intelligence officials believe the hit may be carried out by Wagner itself, which allegedly has two cells in Europe, one in the Balkans and one in the Baltic. However, Crosetto has not increased his security.

Traute Lafrenz obituary

Last survivor of the White Rose movement who was twice arrested by the Gestapo but liberated three days before her trial for treason

On February 18, 1943, Traute Lafrenz was walking to a neurology lecture at Munich University with her friend Willi Graf when she spotted Sophie and Hans Scholl hurrying through the empty courtyard. The siblings looked purposeful, if a little frazzled, but it was the leather suitcase that caught Lafrenz’s attention.

Shut Down Activist Academic Departments

Lawmakers have every right to defund ideologically captured disciplines in public universities

For decades, conservatives have lamented the rise of activist academic departments that push left-wing ideology in the guise of dispassionate scholarship. In 1989, Claremont McKenna scholar Harry Jaffa described the process of his university buckling, under threat of violence, to the establishment of a left-wing black studies department. In 1998, Roger Scruton scoffed at the same activist disciplines, which he called “mock subjects that will in time destroy our universities.” In 2012, Bruce Bawer documented the “victim’s revolution” that had laid waste to humanities departments in nearly every elite university.

How ‘Terrorists Of The Mind’ Weaponize Section 230 and ‘Islamophobia’ For Character Assassination

On Nov. 13, 2015, Muslim militants slayed Nohemi Gonzalez, a 23-year-old American student, amid terrorist attacks across Paris that killed 130 people and injured 400. Soon after, the Islamic State took credit for the attacks, writing “the scent of death will not leave their nostrils as long as they partake in the crusader campaign, as long as they dare to curse our Prophet.”

Earlier this month, lawyers for Gonzalez’s family argued before the Supreme Court that social media companies “aided and abetted” the terrorists by providing them a forum overseas.
