The US soccer federation displayed Iran’s national flag on social media without the emblem of the Islamic Republic, saying the move supports protesters in Iran ahead of the two nations’ World Cup match Tuesday.

Police investigating the deaths of four University of Idaho students have moved to shut down rumors about the case.
The students were found stabbed to death in their beds on November 13 in a rental house. They were housemates Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kernodle’s boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20.
Canada has a trust problem, and it’s not one we can afford to overlook. While, for some, “trust” means little more than some vague feel-good vibes, it’s actually a foundation of any functioning society.
When trust begins to erode, it’s very difficult to stop the spread. Distrust may begin with one institution or political party, but it almost inevitably begins to consume others. It eventually reaches outside the political realm, affecting neighbours and communities. Recent polls show only one-third of Canadians believe most people can be trusted.

Trump claimed later that he had never met Fuentes and knew nothing about his background. But the headlines coming out of the meeting with the two antisemites, where one of whom was a white supremacist, may be very damaging to Trump’s ambition of emulating Grover Cleveland’s second, non-consecutive, successful run for the White House. As a result of the dinner’s reverberation, Trump may lose support among blacks, Hispanics, Jews and many independents who despise racism and bigotry, while providing fresh and broad exposure to Kanye, who would, later on, chew over the nature, the gist, and the back-and-forth between him and Trump.
Trudeau government unveils long-awaited plan to confront an ‘increasingly disruptive’ China
Canada’s long-awaited Indo-Pacific Strategy describes China as “an increasingly disruptive global power” on the world stage — a social and economic force that’s too big to ignore but is also increasingly focused on bending international rules to suit its own interests.
Using some surprisingly blunt language, the strategy says the Canadian government needs to be “clear-eyed” about China’s objectives in the Far East and elsewhere. It promises to spend almost half a billion dollars over five years on improving military and intelligence cooperation with allies in the region.
“China’s rise, enabled by the same international rules and norms that it now increasingly disregards, has had an enormous impact on the Indo-Pacific, and it has ambitions to become the leading power in the region,” says the 26-page document, which was provided to the media in advance of its formal release in Vancouver on Sunday.
