Dr. Oz Provides Update on California’s Healthcare Fraud

Last week, Dr. Oz, head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, said there was significant Medicare/Medicaid fraud in California related to hospice services. We’re not really surprised to find massive fraud happening under Gavin Newsom’s watch. The guy was given tens of millions of dollars to end homelessness in the state. That money is gone, but homelessness has gotten worse, and we can connect those dots.

Geoff Russ: Poilievre rebuilt the Conservatives with populism. The party must not reject it

As the Conservatives prepare for their annual convention in Calgary this weekend, hostile voices are trying to undermine them. They are being told to be less hard-edged, to reject populism, to be respectable “team players.”

Yet rejecting populism would be a disaster, one that would destroy all the rebuilding accomplished by the party since 2022. Roughly four in 10 Canadians back the party, and the base itself is strongly supportive of leader Pierre Poilievre.

John Ivison: Sources say Ottawa considering Swedish jets over F-35s for half of fleet

The petulance displayed by the U.S. ambassador to Canada is exactly what you might expect from Pete Hoekstra if he had just been informed that Canada intends to spend half the money earmarked for new F-35 fighter jets on the rival Swedish Gripen.

Hoekstra apparently skipped the class on diplomacy being about saying the nastiest thing in the nicest way. Instead, he threatened that there would be consequences for the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD), if Canada did not buy 88 F-35A fighter jets, as the Trudeau government said it would in December 2022 (after initially cancelling the project in 2015).

China Is Embedded in Canada’s Arctic

“Russia is without question a threat in the Arctic,” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said this month at the World Economic Forum in Davos. “Without question, Russia does lots of horrible things.”

Russia, despite all the horrible things it does, is not able to challenge Canada without its partner. Carney was quick to name China as the biggest security threat to his country during a federal election debate last April. At Davos, however, he was not willing to talk about China posing a danger to his country.

Moreover, his foreign affairs minister was similarly reluctant. Anita Anand in Davos did not name names when reporters asked her to cite the top threat facing Canada.

Rutte faces backlash for telling Europeans to ‘keep on dreaming’ about independence from US security

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is facing a backlash after saying that the European Union should “keep on dreaming” about becoming independent from the United States, its largest ally, in matters related to security and defence.

His comments came on the heels of US President Donald Trump’s attempt to seize Greenland from Denmark through punitive measures, an unprecedented dispute that brought the nearly 80-year-old transatlantic alliance to the brink of collapse.

Whoopi Falsely Claims Minneapolis Residents Never Got Violent With ICE

On Tuesday, The View continued with ABC’s full court press to mislead the public about what was actually happening in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Intentionally ignoring the riot at a hotel where Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were staying, an ICE agent getting his finger bitten off, an agent getting beating with shovels, and the other clashes with agents, moderator Whoopi Goldberg falsely claimed the residents of the far-left city never got violent and commended them for it.
