Shocking video posted online lays bare just how crime-ridden downtown Minneapolis has become, with a police horse harassed and sworn at, people brawling, and illegal street races happening near where rowdy women twerked on top of cars.

The scene outside The Gay 90s bar on Saturday night seemed chaotic in the video posted online by Rebecca Brannon, as girls were filmed twerking on top of cars and yelling at a police horse as an officer tried to break up a fight involving the women.

Alaska snow crab season canceled as officials investigate disappearance of an estimated 1 BILLION crabs

The famed snow crab fishing season in Alaska’s notorious Bering Sea is canceled for the first time in the state’s history. The cancelation was confirmed on Monday.

The decision comes as officials announced that one billion snow crabs have gone missing from the sea. An investigation into the disappearance by government agencies is continuing.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, over the last two years, the snow crab population has dropped by around 90 percent.

OTTAWA – Internal documents show the RCMP refused to release the badge numbers of officers who cleared “Freedom Convoy” protesters from the Ambassador Bridge last winter, citing a risk of violence from their supporters.

The situation was detailed in a briefing note and threat assessment prepared for RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki, who was asked to approve the decision because the force recognized it raised questions around transparency.

Records show an RCMP blacklist of bank account holders identified as part of the Freedom Convoy movement was sent by email to lobbyists, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

… The records show the RCMP distributed names, birth dates, phone numbers and more by unencrypted email and neither police nor Cabinet ensured the blacklist was accurate or confidential.

A BBC investigation – drawing on interviews with several current and former employees at Al Jazeera, and documentary evidence of inappropriate messages and staff complaints – has found several allegations of sexual harassment against Mr Santamaria in the broadcaster’s Doha newsroom. Some say he wasn’t the only one.

Still much to iron out on fourth anniversary of Canada’s legalization of cannabis

Monday marks the fourth anniversary of the Canadian federal government’s legalization and regulation of cannabis for adults of legal age.

It was back on Oct. 17, 2018, when the production, distribution, sale, import and export, and possession of cannabis became legal in this country, a first for a G7 nation. A year later, cannabis edible products and concentrates became legal for sale as well.

I wonder if their estimates of the size of the illicit market are optimistic.

Russian troops kill Ukrainian musician for refusing role in Kherson concert

Russian soldiers have shot dead a Ukrainian musician in his home after he refused to take part in a concert in occupied Kherson, according to the culture ministry in Kyiv.

Conductor Yuriy Kerpatenko declined to take part in a concert “intended by the occupiers to demonstrate the so-called ‘improvement of peaceful life’ in Kherson”, the ministry said in a statement on its Facebook page.

The concert on 1 October was intended to feature the Gileya chamber orchestra, of which Kerpatenko was the principal conductor, but he “categorically refused to cooperate with the occupants”, the statement said.
