Skanderbeg: The Man Who Sacrificed Everything for His People

Today in history witnessed one of the most stalwart defenses against the Islamic spear-thrust into Europe—the Battle of Albulena in Albania, 1457.

To appreciate the significance of this epic clash, one must first appreciate the leader of the Albanian forces, George Kastrioti, better known as Skanderbeg (“Lord Alexander”).  Today, he is as little known in the West as he was once widely celebrated all throughout Europe.  His life, which is featured in the new book, Defenders of the West: The Christian Heroes Who Stood Against Islam, certainly validates the saying that “truth is stranger than fiction.”

Justice Department Lawyer Smears Religious Liberty Advocate as ‘Hate Group’

A senior Justice Department official referred to a highly regarded religious liberty organization as a “hate group” in a recent LinkedIn post.

Eric P. Bruskin, assistant director of the commercial litigation branch in the Justice Department’s Civil Division, used the term to describe Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian legal advocacy group founded in 1993.

The Justice Department’s social media policy discourages employee comments that could be “perceived as showing prejudice” toward characteristics such as religion.

The Far-Right Foreign Fighter Threat That Wasn’t

Since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine in 2014, and especially since it launched a full-blown invasion in 2022, a new brand of alarmist commentary has started to seep into terrorism analysis concerning a non-existent danger: far-Right[1] foreign fighters.

For instance, University of Chicago Assistant Professor Kathleen Belew told ABC News: “Americans have gone to fight as mercenary soldiers in far-Right and paramilitary units in Ukraine. They do pose a threat to the homeland.”

Chinese tyranny? American surveillance is scary too

The technology of war has come home

The New York Times recently ran an article on the dangers of surveillance tech in China. One wishes they would do the same for the US.

According to the Times, Chinese authorities implement facial recognition tech everywhere they can, the police seek to connect electronic activity (making a call) to a physical location, biometric information such as fingerprints and DNA is collected on a mass scale, and the government wants to tie together all of this data to build comprehensive profiles on troublesome citizens. The latter is the Holy Grail of surveillance, a single source to know all there is known about a person.

Google Employee Furious with Company For Not Being Anti-Israel Enough

Ariel Koren is – or was, for she has just resigned — an employee of Google. She’s a left-wing Jewish “activist” and ardent BDSer who wants Google to cancel its contract to provide services to the Israeli military. Now she is noisily resigning from the company, having concluded that it will not give in to her demands, and that it has “retaliated” against her by planning to transfer her to Google’s office in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Duchess of Sussex’s speech yesterday at the One Young World summit, a charity shebang for ‘young leaders’, had been billed as a talk on gender equality. But what the 2,000-or-so young delegates heard in Manchester yesterday was something rather different.

In the course of her seven-minute monologue, Meghan Markle mentioned gender equality just once – through a blink-and-you’d-miss-it anecdote about the bravery of a young woman from Eritrea. For the rest of Meghan’s time at the podium, she focused on her favourite subject: herself.

Majority of Canadians view a politician’s open support of trucker protest as negative: survey

Most Canadians say they would hold a negative view of a politician who openly supported the trucker protest that took place in Ottawa earlier this year, a new survey from Nanos Research shows.

The survey, which was conducted by Nanos and commissioned by CTV News, found about 70 per cent of participants would have a more or somewhat more negative impression of a politician in such a case, with residents in Quebec more likely to hold a more negative view (70 per cent) than those from the Prairies (58 per cent).

Nanos is an LPC pollster.

This absurd woke sex advice should make us feel sorry for today’s young men

Finding a girlfriend is hard enough without having to learn about ‘vulva-owners of multiple genders’

For young men, adolescence has always been a difficult time. I remember it well. The insecurity. The awkwardness. The peer pressure. Looking back, though, there’s one thing I’m profoundly grateful for.

At least in my day we didn’t have to know what a polyamorous pansexual AFAB was.

Today’s young men have no such luck. I’ve just been reading the agony uncle page on the website of Men’s Health, the world’s biggest men’s magazine. An unnamed young man has written in because he’s confused about his sexuality. “If I’m sexually attracted to people AFAB because of anatomy,” he asks, “does that make me pansexual?”
