Commando Network Coordinates Flow of Weapons in Ukraine, Officials Say

A secretive operation involving U.S. Special Operations forces hints at the scale of the effort to assist Ukraine’s still outgunned military.

WASHINGTON — As Russian troops press ahead with a grinding campaign to seize eastern Ukraine, the nation’s ability to resist the onslaught depends more than ever on help from the United States and its allies — including a stealthy network of commandos and spies rushing to provide weapons, intelligence and training, according to U.S. and European officials.

Much of this work happens outside Ukraine, at bases in Germany, France and Britain, for example. But even as the Biden administration has declared it will not deploy American troops to Ukraine, some C.I.A. personnel have continued to operate in the country secretly, mostly in the capital, Kyiv, directing much of the vast amounts of intelligence the United States is sharing with Ukrainian forces, according to current and former officials.

Canadian special forces operating in Ukraine, New York Times reports

Canadian special forces are in Ukraine as part of a NATO network to provide weapons, training and gather intelligence about the Russians, the New York Times is reporting.

Neither the Department of National Defence nor the office of Defence Minister Anita Anand would comment on the report published Saturday that noted a few dozen commandos from NATO countries, including Britain, France, Canada and Lithuania, had been working inside Ukraine. The United States withdrew its own 150 military instructors before the war began in February.

Privilege: Somali Cop Who Shot Unarmed Woman in Minneapolis to be Released Less Than Five Years Later

We hear a great deal about “white privilege” in America these days, but the truth is that those who are said to be privileged are not, and those who claim to be marginalized are actually the elites. Anyone who doubts this should study the case of Mohamed Noor, the Somali Muslim migrant cop in Minneapolis who shot an unarmed woman, Justine Ruszczyk Damond, to death on July 15, 2017. His murder conviction was overturned last year, and now he is set to be released next week. Of course: he’s black, he’s a Muslim, he’s a migrant. As far as the Left is concerned, he’s a triple victim. Why should he stay in prison for a small thing such as killing a woman?

Prince Charles ‘accepted a suitcase with 1m euros’, report claims

Moneybags

The Prince of Wales accepted a suitcase containing a million euros in cash from a former Qatari prime minister, the Sunday Times has reported.

The paper says this was one of three cash donations from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim totalling three million euros.

Clarence House said donations from the sheikh were passed immediately to one of the prince’s charities and all the correct processes were followed.

There is no suggestion the payments were illegal.

According to the Sunday Times, Prince Charles received the three cash donations in person from the former prime minister between 2011 and 2015.

U.S., Japan, Australia, New Zealand and UK form Pacific group – Justin shunned again?

WASHINGTON – The United States, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom launched an informal group aimed at boosting economic and diplomatic ties with Pacific island nations, the White House said on Friday.

The Biden administration has vowed to commit more resources to the Indo-Pacific as China seeks to boost economic, military and police links with Pacific island nations hungry for foreign investment.

So was Justin shunned again? I think the rest of the world has caught up with the vast majority of Canadians who realize Junior is a punk.

Is Canada’s NORAD upgrade cash new? Defence chief uncertain

Canada’s defence chief says he doesn’t yet know where the money is coming from for $4.9 billion in promised upgrades to NORAD radar and surveillance systems.

In an interview with The West Block‘s Mercedes Stephenson, Gen. Wayne Eyre was asked about growing questions facing the government to detail their spending plan on NORAD upgrades.

Sources have told Global News the military is uncertain about where the funds are coming from, and that there are meetings happening at the department trying to determine how much of the money is new. Those sources say there are significant concerns that the money may not be new, and may need to be re-capitalized from within the existing defence budget.

No one knows where this money is or even if it’s new? I’d say it’s near mission accomplished for those who want to abolish the military.

Cost of living concerns must be balanced with fiscal restraint, Chrystia Freeland says … and uh… pleasing our corporate class

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland says she must strike a balance between helping Canadians suffering from the effects of inflation and pursuing a policy of fiscal restraint — or risk making the cost of living problem worse.

In an interview airing Sunday on Rosemary Barton Live, Freeland, who also serves as deputy prime minister, said she was open to further action on affordability issues but that she believes measures already underway — worth $8.9 billion — would help alleviate the impact on Canadians.

“I have to strike a balance. One is supporting Canadians with affordability challenges and the other is fiscal restraint, because I don’t want to make the Bank of Canada’s job harder than it already is,” Freeland told CBC chief political correspondent Rosemary Barton.

Rent is out of control in urban centers. Why is rent out of control? Too many renters competing for too few available rentals. Why are there too many renters? One big factor is the insane mass immigration policy of Freeland’s Liberal party. They’re “fighting inflation” by depressing the wages of working class Canadians through record setting immigration rates. If interest rates move higher a lot of homeowners will no longer be able to afford their mortgage payments, they call that cooling the market they helped heat up by creating too much demand through … needless mass immigration.

And that sets the stage for this interesting coincidence …

Canada isn’t prepared to deal with large investors’ growing interest in single-family homes

Rising borrowing costs, dimming economic prospects and stricter lending rules are taking some of the air out of housing bubbles in Canada, the United States and other markets in which strong demand, tight supply and speculative fever have driven prices to record levels and deepened an already serious affordability crisis.

The evidence that overheated markets are cooling is mounting. Canadian home resales slid 8.6 per cent in May from the previous month, and much more than that in such hot markets as Vancouver. Prices fell for a second consecutive month, after shooting higher through most of the COVID-19 pandemic, and some economists forecast a decline of up to 20 per cent this year as higher mortgage rates hit home.

Restoring a modicum of sanity to residential markets won’t do much for people seeking accommodation they can afford. But at least it will prevent the crisis from getting even worse, right? Well, not really.

What Democrats get wrong about Supreme Court’s Second Amendment decision

The Supreme Court handed down a landmark decision in support of the Second Amendment this week. Naturally, the backlash has been swift and brutal.

The court ruled 6-3 that New York’s restrictive concealed carry permit system was unconstitutional. Known as a “may issue” system, it essentially required New Yorkers to convince a government bureaucrat that they had “a special need for self-protection distinguishable from that of the general community” in order to carry a firearm outside the home.

The high court’s ruling declares this a violation of the Second Amendment and the 14th Amendment — a violation, given that these amendments establish a right to keep and bear (read: outside the home) arms in self-defense. New York’s subjective, restrictive system treated self-defense as a privilege, not a right, so the justices struck it down.

Europe Must Declare a War Economy

As Russia turns off the gas and Germany activates emergency plans, Europeans must become ants to avoid ending up grasshoppers.

The next step in the conflict between the West and Russian President Vladimir Putin was supposed to be a European boycott on Russian coal, oil and natural gas. It may instead be a gas embargo by Putin on Europe. It comes to much the same.

The countries of the European Union must accept what some of them — notably Germany and Austria — spent years denying. It’s that in the eyes of an amoral despot such as Putin, everything is a weapon of war. That includes nuclear and chemical arms, but also wheat, disinformation and, not least, energy.

For decades, Putin has done his best to make European countries as dependent as possible on Siberian hydrocarbons to create vulnerabilities in the West. Now he’s exploiting those weaknesses.

The so-called “Smartest people in the room” told us that free trade with tyrannies such as Russia and China would mitigate their totalitarian nastiness. It was all bullshit motivated by greed. Now the same slime insist mass immigration is the way to lift everyone’s boat. They’re lying again.

What Could Go Wrong? Biden’s Handlers Allow Members of a Foreign Terrorist Organization to Enter the U.S.

Fifty people on the terror watch list have been apprehended at the Southern border so far this year, and there is no telling how many got across without being caught. And now Old Joe Biden’s handlers have opened up a new way for terrorists to get into the United States: Iran International English reported late Friday that “the Biden admin has decided to lift a controversial ban on the entry into US of Iranian men who’d been conscripted into IRGC, a Foreign Terrorist Organization, as part of their compulsory military service, as they don’t ‘pose a national security or public safety risk.’” The IRGC is Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which the Trump administration designated a terrorist organization in 2019. In their avidity to roll back every last thing that Trump did, Biden’s handlers are once again actively endangering Americans.

Air Canada admits British passengers were rounded up and hauled off flight by armed police in Toronto by ‘MISTAKE’ in heavy-handed crackdown over mask rules

An airline which ejected at least 25 passengers from a Heathrow-bound plane without telling them why has admitted that some were ‘mistakenly removed’.

Air Canada has confirmed that some passengers had done nothing wrong before its staff accompanied by armed police ordered them off the plane.

Officials have been contacting the innocent passengers to apologise for the blunder and are believed to be discussing possible compensation with them.

Crazy.

Russell Brand: the latest Leftist to endorse Fox News

Commenting on Jimmy Dore’s recent appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, comedian Russell Brand took to his own YouTube channel to make a bold claim:

Fox News used to be a channel that we continually berated and baited when it was Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. We used to torment them about their stances on numerous issues. But nowadays, if you want a channel that’s going to criticise big business, big tech, big corporations, and the mainstream media, you’re most likely to find that on Fox News….Why don’t we have a Leftist mainstream media outlet that would showcase a voice like Jimmy Dore’s? Why is that? What has become of the Left?

Catholic Priest Says Catholics Should Celebrate Pride Month

Does that make sense?

In Cremona, Italy, recently, an LGBTQ+ pride march included a topless mannequin of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The bishop of Cremona, Antonio Napolioni responded by saying he was “shocked at…the offensive and obviously blasphemous images.”

That’s a bit reminiscent of the scene in Casablanca when Captain Renault professes that he is “shocked, shocked “to discover gambling in Rick’s Café–moments before the croupier hands him his winnings.
