The largest migrant caravan to date this year has mostly dissipated, but that doesn’t mean that thousands more migrants are no longer headed to the U.S.-Mexico border.
Members of the migrant caravan initially gathered in the city of Tapachula on the Mexican side of the Mexico-Guatemala border, and set off on their march towards the United States in the second week of June. While the caravan formed in and departed from a Mexican town, the bulk of the caravan’s members were from Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua. There were also Haitians, Salvadorans, Hondurans, and Guatemalans in the mix. Individuals from India, Bangladesh, and some African countries were also spotted in the caravan’s ranks.
Former Conservative leader Erin O’Toole claims foreign interference from China in the last election cost his party seats. But some media and national security experts are pushing back, arguing that it’s difficult to conclusively prove interference and that any intervention was unlikely to have been so decisive.

MONTREAL—To look back on the first stretch of Justin Trudeau’s third term is to be reminded there is a reason why no prime minister has succeeded in securing a fourth consecutive election victory in more than a century.
Based on the recent past, governments do not age well. On that score, think back to Stephen Harper’s unimpressive third term or to the Liberal civil war that engulfed Jean Chrétien’s last years in office.
In the end, each of those governments ended up poisoning the well of its reelection for a fourth term. At this rate, Trudeau’s tenure will be no exception.

Is there some hope that senile progressivism’s days are numbered?
“Woman.” A word that didn’t need to be defined because its meaning was, until very recently, self-evident: “woman” is defined as a female with the XX chromosome and the only human being capable of having children.
Now Western nihilism in its worst form cancels it. It would be easy to dismiss these comic aspects of identity politics, according to which “what really matters is not who you are but which oppressed minority you belong to.” Exasperated existentialism is the dead end of a self-satisfied era. But if even the most banal question, “What is a woman?”, puts the system in crisis, then it means that the situation is serious, but that there is hope. Hope that senile progressivism’s days are numbered.
